@MB_S Considering our budget, we are underperforming. We have spent more than Pompey and they are 5 point ahead of us with 3 games in hands. I’m sick to death of seeing the same excuses. We are where we are because of financial mismanagement, shit recruitment and terrible coaching.

This sums it all up for me. For all of the ‘if, buts and maybes’ we are always going to sustain Championship level in our current circumstances. As fans we need to make sure we don’t demand ‘x, y, z is underperforming’ given our budget and starting point. It’s a tough ask. #OUFC

Anyway, here we all are….and we’ll all still be here next season regardless of the division we’re in.

@cricketbetting @swissyellow I do think what others have spent is completely relevant. Clubs are all in the same market and budgets are sky high in the Champs due to parachute and Wrexham/B’ham owner model. We’re way beneath that level budget wise.

@cricketbetting @swissyellow I think what been proven is ‘decent money’ is not a million quid. Rom is clearly some sort of ‘trophy’ for the Indonesian owner. Birmingham spent £15m in a few days. I doubt we’ve spent that in 5-10 years?

@MB_S @swissyellow It really isn’t. We’ve spent very decent money on very poor players. Remember El Miz, Kioso? Dembele and Rom even bigger fees. Phillips wage was huge. The hot rate is not good enough. On the law of averages maybe half of these 8 will redress the balance

@cricketbetting @swissyellow This is a harsh take. The recruitment team budget means they have to unearth talent that clearly means they will be a risk involved (injury, attitude etc). We are spending 10% of some of our rivals (until this window). Difficult task.

@swissyellow It’s perfectly reasonable to recognise investment + be grateful but also question the competency of the senior management team. With eight new players there is no excuse for not taking this to the wire. But I have limited faith in our recruitment dept. Defining few months for Ed

@danielfreeman83 I’m not so sure. I think with the obvious uncertainty of what division we’ll be playing in next season coupled with the obvious difficulty we’re having moving players on, it makes sense to give yourself the option whilst retaining the chance of a clean slate in June
