@Mohitpareek_22 GPay and PhonePe are synonymous with UPI in India, they’re payment apps first. WhatsApp is a messaging app first. Most people don’t know it supports UPI or don’t think of it for payments. Same story with Amazon Pay and CRED: huge user bases, but payments aren’t the core habit.

WhatsApp is on literally every smartphone in India So it should have dominated UPI payments, right? But its market share is less than 1% Meanwhile, GPay and PhonePe together control more than 80% Why do you think WhatsApp failed so badly as a UPI app despite having such a massive user base?

I’m so sick of Markdown right now. It’s amazing for humans and LLMs, but impossible to process or manipulate otherwise. Is there anything that renders like Markdown (for humans) but has a strict structure (like XML/YAML/etc) so it’s easy to manipulate? Ideally, a superset of Markdown, so it “just works” and renders like normal Markdown. But with added structure that makes it easy to parse and verify and manipulate. I’m building my own thing currently but I’d rather not.

Being 40 in an office full of 20-somethings is weird. During a recent work trip to Delhi, this 22 year old colleague entered my room to borrow toothpaste and was later telling anyone who'd listen that I had "OCD". Why? Everything in Pune is a little expensive, even if it's a basic thing. In Indore we used to get poha for 10, 12, or 15 rupees maximum, but here in Pune even at the very normal basic thela the poha costs 30 rs. And the most important thing they dont even put "sev" in it.
