This is such a waste. Players had the option to not wear the rainbow hat. Instead they decided to write on their uniforms in violation of MLB rules and MLB said you can't do that.

Officially this is not a pinch hitting appearance, as Ohtani was already in the game. This officially is considered an at bat as a pitcher, as the DH was terminated at this moment.

It's not clearly written but I think smart baseball minds could argue how to get a player 2 at bats in an inning. I get it, pitchers don't hit anymore but this feels bush league, and baseball abides by bush at times.
