The Rangers have called up RHP Winston Santos from Double-A Frisco for his first shot at the big leagues. Jose Corniell was optioned to Round Rock to clear the roster spot. It's been a brutal year for Santos on the surface, 7.44 ERA over 11 starts at Double-A, after a back injury wiped out most of 2025 and a broken hand (from a comebacker, non-throwing side) cost him time this spring. However, he's still striking out at a strong clip and entered the season as a top-7 prospect in the system, according to multiple outlets. Texas burned through Quantrill, Corniell and Ross in yesterday's bullpen game vs. Miami, so Santos is the freshest arm available with deGrom on the mound today. No guarantee he sees action this series, but with Leiter out for the year after ankle surgery, there's a rotation spot up for grabs.

Due to the inevitable matchup with the Spurs for the next decade, I’ll guarantee anyone Morez Johnson doesn’t get past Presti. Chip would only enhance his shooting/floor spacing value in lineups with Chet to pull Vic away from the basket in 5 out sets. I don’t think there any chance he’s there at 20.
