Just to be clear.. The UK is choosing to forgo the AI revolution so that it can instead solve 1% of global emissions via economic degrowth and the adoption of intermittent renewable energy sources with no means of buffering or storage.

@GMFinX Nice, you reminded me about this app! (last filled out in 2023) This includes my S&S ISAs, SIPP, BTC and some physical gold - basically all my "financial" net worth.

Little story Immigrated to England when I was 9 with my mum, barely making ends while renting. Started working at 16, made a lot of bad life decisions, gotten into bad crowds and drugs. 2 years ago gotten sober and last year November decided to change and start investing

Following on from my Net Worth post, here is an app that you can use to track yours. The graph looks amazing 😍 I didn’t input everything in between, so the angle of the graph isn’t correct. But the start and end point are. What’s your Net Worth? Link to the app: getworthit.com

@GMFinX I was able to put a lot away (especially into the pension) in 2023 and 2024. My expenses started to go up a lot after I became a dad 😅

I’m really reconsidering my Space ETF position. I’m down almost £200. Truthfully, I don’t know enough about this ETF but still went into it. It’s not performing well and I think I would rather the capital in my higher conviction plays like chips.

Late 2020: A corporate share scheme is announced: a 3-year commitment at a fixed price starting Jan 2021. The share scheme price was on the floor, making it a complete no-brainer. Better yet, there was zero risk, just an option to buy at the end, meaning I could walk away with my cash if it fell. I locked in approx £315 a month, total investment £11,376. Fast forward to Dec 2024. The scheme matures, I exercise the option to buy, transfer the shares straight into an ISA, and sell them for around £21,500. 📈 A clean £10k profit. 💰 That was the exact moment the penny dropped for me. Seeing that kind of growth from a disciplined, monthly contribution changed everything. That £21.5k cash injection was the catalyst. The investing journey really began from there. Fast forward to today: I've shifted my focus heavily toward US tech and growth stocks. Between a £61k ISA and £10k in unvested employer shares, the portfolio is sitting at just over £70k. Next stop: £100k. Let's keep compounding. 🚀

elon could solve world hunger literally this second all he has to do is full stack dump all his shares, cause a stock market recession, wipe out trillions, delete tens of thousands of jobs, and then he'll be able to fund the federal government for about 18 minutes

My daughter was nearly in tears the other day. Because she can’t find a casual job. “Dad I’ll do anything. I’ll wash dishes at 6am” - & she means it. Did it last year. But there are no jobs now as, it seems, they’re all going to foreigners This makes me feel… revolutionary
sean thomas knox@thomasknox

I just do not understand this. My 20 year old daughter is desperate for a summer job. And this kind of low skill casual work is what OUR kids used to do. But our government insists on giving these jobs to foreigners who then bring in their benefit-claiming families. WTAF

Microsoft doesn't need extraordinary assumptions. 18.5% EPS growth and a 25x multiple gets you close to a $1,000 stock by 2031. $MSFT

I work in Construction. The days are long. The graft is hard. The stress is real. I am trying to build something that eliminates the need for a full time strenuous and stressful job and gives me much more freedom. Follow along for the journey. First step. £5000 by the end of 2026.
