(2) The NASA ORION capsule Integrity finally back to land seen here returning to Navel Base San Diego. The heat shield and thermal protection systems performed as expected. The ship looked great! 04-11-26

@NASA Didn't The Grateful Dead have a album about the dark side of the moon?

Make new friends, but keep the old. A new photo captures the Moon's near side on the right (the side we see from Earth, identifiable by its dark splotches) and its far side on the left. The Artemis II crew are the first to see the far side with human eyes.

@NatureelVideo @NASA Yes you are. Apollo astronauts only saw a small sliver of the far side "lit". The rest was unlit for all Apollo moon missions.

@NASA I don't get the "first to see the far side with human eyes" thing. The manned Apollo missions made 164 orbits of the Moon (according to Google) so those astronauts must have seen the far side. Or am I missing something?

@NASA How do they travel from Earth to the Moon? Why don’t they get lost in the vacuum of space? Please explain this to me. Please ?

Lights, camera… lunar action. 📸🌕 For Artemis II, Orion will carry 31 cameras designed to capture the mission from every angle. From external cameras mounted on the solar arrays to internal cabin views documenting crew life, these imaging systems will record key moments like launch, solar array deployment, and the spacecraft’s distant journey around the Moon. A dedicated optical navigation camera will photograph Earth and the Moon to help Orion determine its position in deep space, while handheld Nikon Z9 cameras give the crew the ability to capture high‑resolution imagery through the windows.

Artemis II astronauts are doing great. The Orion spacecraft is performing well in an impressive elliptical orbit, and the @NASA_Johnson Mission Control team is taking good care of the crew. Meanwhile, back at @NASAKennedy, the teams are out at the pad getting ready for what comes next. We are going to get into a rhythm of launching Moon rockets around here 🇺🇸

Artemis II: Very much subject to change, but we're hearing from KSC folk that there's a target of NET March 19 for SLS to roll back to 39B. That's still a while away, thus subject to change, but it does point to them having a good grasp of the issue and the resolution path. Max Evans (@_MaxQ_) photo for NSF.

@SusanArendt Your article on Space.com about Star Trek movies has an error. The Voyage Home was about Humpback Whales, not Blue Whales. Good article tho'.

@janephilpott @PierrePoilievre I respect you as a professional Ms. Philpott but Safe Injection Stes are NOt Health Centres. The injection of dangerous, addictive drugs is not healthy no matter how you slice it. Society i turning away from these failed poilcies as the evidence piles up of the obvious dangers.

With respect @PierrePoilievre, these are not "drug dens", they are health centres. They save lives. In fact the staff have attended to about 50,000 overdoses & medical emergencies since 2017, with no reported fatalities onsite. Thousands of women and men are alive because of SCS.

During tonight’s Falcon 9 launch of Starlink, the second stage engine did not complete its second burn. As a result, the Starlink satellites were deployed into a lower than intended orbit. SpaceX has made contact with 5 of the satellites so far and is attempting to have them raise orbit using their ion thrusters.
