@the_ason @TheRealJChubby Or be incentivized to hire locally/relocate to cities and put the tax base there instead of relocating the the exurbs and forcing a commute. You realize that policy can shape outcomes, right?

@PNWConservative In terms of the "tax the rich people" the definition of rich is as follows: Do you have more assets than I do? If yes, then you are the rich and must be taxed.

Can anyone tell me what a “fair” tax on the “rich” is? I still can’t get a straight answer. Is it 30%? Is it 50%? Is it 90%? And what would be considered “rich”?

@Naumkeeg @ewarren as others have stated, it's .15%, not 15%. AND, it's wealth, not income. She wants to tax unrealized stock gains

@ewarren Current data shows that the income of the top 15% of the wealthiest families starts at $206,000. So, bottom line you propose to begin confiscating assets from the upper middle class. And, when you run out of that money, what’s next.

A wealth tax on the top .15% of the richest families would generate $6.2 trillion in revenue. That could pay for: Universal childcare Millions of new homes Slashing child poverty Medicare for people aged 55+ Universal paid family leave Tuition-free community college And more.

@ewarren A wealth tax would have to effectively be about 30% for these numbers to make sense. Besides the fact that once you tax everyone out of the bracket, who are you going to tax then?

Never have I ever seen so many people up in arms about a minute disparity in NBA discussions. Let me put it like this: if you're a viewer, would you rather see a guy play 40 minutes in one night and take the next night off or 30 minutes in both games? The point of the rule is to have the players play the games—not rack up minutes to count as game credits. Now, I don't love the rule, but this particular minutes argument doesn't really make sense in relation to why it was implemented in the first place.
ClutchPoints@ClutchPoints

Make it make sense. ⏱️ Luka Doncic - 2289 minutes ⏱️ Cade Cunningham - 2150 minutes ⏱️ Anthony Edwards - 2137 minutes All ineligible. Then there's Victor Wembanyama: ⏱️ 1866 minutes… eligible. That's where the rule feels off. Maybe it needs another layer, like 2100+ minutes played. Because workload matters too. Or… Wemby's just that good 👽

I strongly support the sales tax increase to fund HCMC. We can't let our safety net hospital close. But I am intensely opposed to the $7 million per year that SF 4986 would also give to the Twins Stadium. It's a major expansion of corporate welfare. The Pohlads should pay for it!

Just heard the best/worst caller on the Dave Ramsey podcast. Married couple, under 30. $145,000 household income. Came on the show to celebrate paying off the mortgage on their $450,000 Georgia home. Said they starting paying it off early 5 years ago, meaning they had a low interest rate home loan (probably <3%) and started to aggressively pay it down right as interest rates were starting to rise. Dave Ramsey loved it, launching into a lecture about how 26-year olds who say they can’t buy homes should look at this couple for inspiration. Hahaha.

@lezzymcgu1re I get why people are dragging you. But this is not common knowledge, I learned it in law school tax classes… a progressive tax means the rate only applies to that bracket of money. So 12.3% only applies to anything above $1,000,000
