The deal being floated with Iran seems straight out of the Wendy Sherman-Robert Malley-Ben Rhodes playbook: Pay the IRGC to build a WMD program and terrorize the world. Not remotely America First. It’s straightforward: Open the damned strait. Deny Iran access to money. Take out enough Iranian capability so it cannot threaten our allies in the region. Overdue. Let’s go.

The reason I was genuinely encouraged when Joe diGenova was appointed as Russiagate czar is that he has been deeply immersed in this story from day one. Many will remember his near nightly commentary on Fox News in the early days, where he never held back. Some have suggested he has at times overshot the target, but I see that as a strength. After nearly a decade of total failure and inaction, it is far better to have someone in the role who is willing to press hard than yet another person who is simply there to run out the clock.
