How do you do it?

@PicturesFoIder Well, in this case I've seen 27+48 enough that my brain just went to association and it knew that it was 75 without having to do the calculations. If I had to calculate it usually splits it up and takes 7+8 and determines it is 15 and then adds 20+40 and gets 60, then 60+15=75.

@PicturesFoIder I’m a bit confused by this post. Why do you need a strategy? Isn’t it simply 75? I guess if I want to double check, I’d do 50+27-2, or 30+48-3, or 48+20+7… I mean, if you ask how do you add 976 +479 I get it. Then I’d most likely do 1476-21.

@RGGonzales1 @CdnPercy Interesting to follow this. It’s appalling how often people (hopefully) thoughtlessly perpetuate such slurs. What is new to me is the negative connotation of “hole in the wall”, which I would have readily used for the tiny German bakery cafe I went to in Norway, for instance.
