Building an open & interoperable extended mind. A mind is like a parachute, it doesn't work if it is not open ~Zappa

The biggest reason I have for opening Nameless Mountain is to make high-quality psychological training available to people at scale, on a by-donation basis. No more $1,000, $5,000, $10,000 trainings to learn to regulate the nervous system or learn basic relationship skills. We're going to teach people how to do this for free, and we're going to teach people how to teach other people to do this for free. And we're going to do it all in a way that respects people's current religion and culture. If Christians and Jews and atheists don't mind learning what Buddhists and SBNRs have learned, we want to share it, and we want to learn from them too. No one is strong-armed into believing something that isn't right for them, no one is made to feel lesser or inferior because of their faith. There's no reason that virtues which used to be freely transmitted as part of our culture should now be separate and hidden inside exorbitantly priced workshops and retreats. There's no reason our culture should be in this bad of shape. Our elders, the holders of our culture's wisdom, have been very unwise for the last half century. They dismantled religion and now sell it back to people piecemeal. Even mysticism has been commodified and sold. This is essentially spiritual fracking. We want to put wisdom back together again. And we want to see a contemplative renaissance bloom in the United States, across faiths and regions. That's what we mean when we say "We are here to renew the sacred." The main offering of Nameless Mountain is called Repertoire, and it's built on the same model of participatory education we used for Fight Wise. From a strong base of Dharma and contemplative skill, we help people to dig deep and find the individual problems that make it hard for them to stand on their own two feet, trust themselves and be present in their life. And then we have them re-enact their patterns in a safe environment with others, so they can learn to do something new. We are going to do this, online and in-person, EVERY SINGLE WEEK. It will be by donation, and no one will be turned away. When we raise enough money, we are going to add a second weekly workshop called Repair, which will work on a similar model, but for emotional issues, including trauma and attachment wounding. Of course we'll also offer retreats and workshops for people who want to dive deep, or need specialized training. Of course they'll cost money. But we'll never gatekeep information and training that can help people live a good life behind an unaffordable barrier. If you'd like to help us bring high-quality, professional-level psychological training to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, please donate here: givebutter.com/c/nameless-mou…

"Are You Afraid of Death?" - @lexfridman "I Really Don't Wanna Die." - Jensen Huang Lex asks Jensen if he's afraid of death. Jensen goes fully personal: "I really don't wanna die. I have a great family. This is a once in a humanity experience, what I'm going through." Then explains why he doesn't believe in succession planning.

why is Anthropic so much faster at shipping?

A few days ago I tried explaining these ideas but man lived experience is much richer lol Immortalism Manifesto immortalism.bryanjohnson.com

This was the most profound experience of my life. I am stunned beyond comprehension. This molecule is without peer. The 27mg dose opened up what felt like pure consciousness and intelligence. A majestic reveal of existence itself. In all its incomprehensible glory and majesty. It is impossible to explain with words. Whatever you imagine, multiply it by 1,000 and then add infinite width and depth and dimensions. But entrance was not granted without prerequisite. Existence demanded that I submit. That I say yes; without attachment and without condition. Yes to existence; yes to the dissolution of self; yes to release control; yes, to all. My ego registered the ask and panicked. It wanted control. It was desperate for control. It pleaded to escape from the torrent of light and essence that threatened to rip my sanity into chards. The urge to eject was overwhelming. Terror thundered throughout my mind and body. It took everything within me to release. I overcame and was treated with bliss that defies imagination. A euphoria colored with perfect harmony of all things. An orchestra of essence washed over me and swept me up in dance. It was home. The highest aspiration of intelligent life. For some reason, stored and tucked away as the ultimate prize. A single concept emerged in omnipresence: we cannot grok the preciousness of our existence. Yet it is everything we’ve ever wanted and more. The state we long for without knowing it exists. This caused me great pain and heartache. A swell of loyalty and devotion emerged inside me, pledging allegiance to existence. To become a warrior and caretaker of life on earth. To protect at any cost the candle of consciousness that has miraculously emerged in this part of the galaxy. What awaits will wipe all your tears, soothe all your sorrows, and infinitely exceed your wants.

Pretty soon, I think we’ll see software shipping with Claude Code SDK embedded inside. Users will use it to configure and modify the software to meet their exact needs. The best changes will get passed back to the software developer and reincorporated in the master release.
