@jsnover @joshuastenhouse It was a career change for me :)

@joshuastenhouse Nice!
And it's freaking free, open source, and cross platform.
I'm still amazed that we pulled PowerShell off ... at Microsoft!
English

PowerShell is freaking awesome!
I remember the early 2000s when MSFT had some security nightmare and an execs sent email telling us to reach out to everyone we knew and walk them through a 5 page fixit process. I kept thinking, why isn't there a cut-n-paste cmd to fix this?

🚨 Active Directory admins, read this post and check in PowerShell with: Get-ADObject -Filter "msDS-supportedEncryptionTypes -bor 0x7 -and -not msDS-supportedEncryptionTypes -bor 0x18"

@tiesmaster this tweet reminds me: I actually met @jsnover in person. He's a good egg.

@jsnover @PeterZeihan I would have thought that would have been
Get-friend
Get-skill -type 'sharpenspear'
Move-direction -location 'opposite'
Get-Spear -type 'blunt' | Start-Launch -aim 'vague'
;)
#powershell saves us us ;)
English

@PeterZeihan Throws a spear.
Bounces off.
"Let's be friends while I learn how to sharpen a spear - OK?"
English

If you were wondering, YES there is a way to beat Wordle quickly with #PowerShell to irritate friends and relatives ;)
I'd Love feedback to improve the documentation :)
Used it on the 16 wordle version pretty successfully too

@ChrisPirillo I saw that and it gave me an awesome laugh in a crazy week. Thanks!
English

So yes, I am one of the 10,000 and I shall never complain.
I got the chance where many didn't to live my Dream job and work alongside some of the most brilliant people ever.
New friends too!
I walked the Long Road to Redmond. Still smiling back :)

@PSJamesP @jsnover @concentrateddon I would sing off key happily for charity to make that happen…. But alas travelling back is tricky.

Who wants to join @concentrateddon and me in #LasVeagas for a one time #PowerShell deep dive class! May 10-12? donjones.com/powershell-fir…

@davidfowl @joaosilvestr I remember getting some fun technical questions when I had my PFE interviews before I joined. It was not so much as “Do you know?” But “If you don’t, think it through, what could you do?” Loved those!
English

@joaosilvestr I think those sorts of questions are OK if the interviewer isn't looking for a specific answer. It might be a "how would you design X from first principles" sorta thing. The question could be more relevant to the job though 😅
English

I guess I understand that some places ask interview questions like these reddit.com/r/dotnet/comme… but it’s so foreign to me because we rarely look for this specific type of knowledge in interviews at Microsoft (unless it was on your resume).

What a great PowerShell one-liner!

mstsc/console logon to a VM wasn't working so I made poor man's "top" for Windows using #PowerShell, run once PS remoted to VM via Enter-PSSession while($true) { cls ; '' ; ps |sort cpu -Descending|select -first 20 |ft -auto; Start-Sleep -Milliseconds 500 }
