@Joshlikesreds @KentuckyZone Yeah I agree. I think he’s more of an upgrade than we think? I’ve watched a lot of his film. He rebounds like Mo. Tough inside like Mo but McBride has what Mo didn’t. A jump shot of any kind and handles like a guard. If we sign him I think him & Hawthorne are sleeper candidates

If you’re bringing in McBride to be the starter, you should’ve just retained Mo. I understand the problem with his fit. But after all that talk about upgrading the 4 spot, I do not believe McBride is an upgrade. IMO. Hope I am wrong.

I like McBride, good player. If he were your 7th or 8th man, I’d really like him. But saying this as kindly as possible, he cannot be a starter.
Maybe UK pulls a rabbit out of its hat and he turns into a great role player off the bench- that’s the kind of outcome UK needs here.

Zoom Diallo hasn’t proven he can shoot it and Alex Wilkins very inconsistent from 3 (although it should improve).

Here’s the issue: Almost feels like a panic move to get both Alex Wilkins AND Zoom Diallo. I can promise you, Diallo isn’t going there to play off the ball. He’s not very effective without the ball in general. But if Wilkins isn’t handling the ball, it greatly limits what he’s good at.
To me, some of the early portal whiffs led to Kentucky just going in on talent and not worrying about fit, which is a pretty shaky formula.

Certainly some knocks in Alex Wilkins’s game. Shooting is a concern. Can hit them but not consistent enough — yet. The decision making is what’ll determine just how much of his potential he taps into at Kentucky. Had some high turnover games and bad shot selection at times. I love his talent, though. His 6-5 frame, versatile scoring and overall playmaking should make him a top option for the Wildcats.
