While Canada missed the boat a decade ago during the first wave of LNG export opportunities from North America, CEO François Poirier of @TCEnergy says the time is ripe to take advantage of the second wave. “The opportunity has come back around again, because of geopolitics and just surging demand for natural gas. And so we have a chance to dominate, and we have to go after it.” Let’s make that a plan. resourceworks.com/canada-was-tro…

To meet Canada's net-zero electricity targets by 2050, demand will roughly double. What does that look like? The equivalent of 130 Site C dams. Or 80 large nuclear reactors. Or 850 solar facilities the size of the Travers project. Is it responsible for B.C. to drop natural gas while banning nuclear from the mix? @JamesRRushton1 on what energy sovereignty actually requires: resourceworks.com/energy-soverei… #BCEnergy #EnergyPolicy #NetZero #BCPoli

Is B.C. LNG a climate threat? The data says the opposite. ✅ 25% lower lifecycle emissions than coal. ✅ $4.9B in contracts for Indigenous & regional businesses. ✅ Canada's first electric tugboat fleet. "Those Asian economies were knocking on our door — 'We need more of your oil, your heavy oil, your LNG. What can you do for us?'" - @PTertzakian, @arcenergyinst That was before the Iran war. Once the hostilities cease, they'll be knocking a lot harder. New economic modelling shows that investing in Canadian pipeline capacity could add $31.4B to our GDP annually. Metro Vancouver gas prices are back near $1.90 a litre. But it could have been much worse. ⛽📉 Economists say the Trans Mountain expansion knocked 28¢/litre off local wholesale prices last year. To survive the next global oil shock, we need more infrastructure, not less. resourceworks.com/paying-more-at… #BCPoli #TMX #EnergySecurity

Replacing natural gas in a Kamloops pulp mill with green hydrogen could cut emissions by 7,000 tonnes a year—the equivalent of taking 1,500 vehicles off the road. The project is a partnership between Kruger Kamloops Pulp, Elemental Clean Fuels and the @Tkemlups Nation. And it's just one of 50 hydrogen projects valued at $5 billion underway in B.C. resourceworks.com/hydrogen-shows…

Ottawa is talking about moving faster on resources. Canada's largest oil producer just deferred an $8.25B oilsands expansion, citing carbon pricing uncertainty, methane rules and unclear approval timelines. Talk is a start. Certainty is what moves capital. #CdnPoli #OOTT resourceworks.com/major-project-…
