@gayboredape Hey, I’m a crypto native CPA. Feel free to shoot me over any questions. Accounting is pretty industry specific so it can be tough to find the proper person. That being said, I’m a bit worried if none of them knew what you were talking about.
Why I do my taxes on my own, including my company ones🧵
I like to have control over the things that could drastically change my wealth.
In the years I’ve spent hundreds of hours studying the U.S tax code and understanding how to conveniently apply it to my tax situation.
I have multiple streams of income that not necessarily create favorable scenarios for each other, so I opened different companies to maximize their management and productivity.
For example, one of my companies sells NFTs and has a very specific organizational situation.
Another company produces digital content providing token-gated benefits that bring in crypto income along with regular income.
A third company has nothing to do with the crypto and web3 world and only produces regular income.
I consulted dozens of CPAs before starting on my own.
No one I spoke to knew what I was talking about, were open-minded enough to fully take advantage of the tax code or had competence that surpassed my own research.
So I had only two choices:
•renouncing to maximize my tax benefits and let someone else do my taxes
or
• learn how to protect my value, roll up my sleeves and file taxes on my own
I chose the second, and instead invest more money on a legal team.
This route leads to improving my business knowledge in terms of organizational structure, financial management, state and federal tax acts.
In case of audit no one would know better than me how to explain what my companies do and how they transact business, giving me an additional opportunity to understand how IRS works and thinks.
I get to keep full control of my particular tax situations and my business responsibilities, doing what I consider is the best to protect my wealth when it comes to yet unregulated markets and businesses.
Taxes are fascinating if you built for yourself the right situation.
We’re used to look at taxes with fear, but often it’s when you change the perspective that you open up for good things.
@Cryptilt@BendDAO The formula you’re looking for is: what is greater between 170% APY vs 214% APY-4%*(share of rewards). If we plug it, it’s about 82%. So a MAYC would need to offer 82% (or higher) of the rewards to the $APE holder to make it worth for the $APE holder.
@dcinvestor Highly recommend Greg doucettes recipe book. I can link you a pdf if interested. It’s about ~250 pages of low calorie recipes for every meal.
looking for good lower-carb recipes (doesn't need to be totally Paleo, but just have an emphasis on fewer and/or healthier carbs)
i already have books from the "Well Fed" series
y'all got any recs?
This is the best PR Sam could ask for. Letting the mob reveal their hand that they have no idea of what they're talking about. They're trying to "GOTCHA" Sam but they don't have the intelligence to pull it off or the focus to keep on one issue long enough for truth to be revealed
At Facebook, when we were under existential threat from Google Plus, Zuck gathered everyone around the Palo Alto office and gave a passionate rallying cry - a call to be extremely hardcore (in twitter speak) which we called “Lockdown”. The kitchens were open on weekends.
We won.
We've archived @SBF_FTX's tweets over the past year. Due to the recent bankruptcy, and growing concern around his account activity, we've decided to release the list of 118 tracked tweets that have since been deleted after posting.
