@NiohBerg Did you meen to put the full stop there? Did you really mean "No normal civilians are getting hurt" or did you meen "Normal civilians are getting hurt."?

My mom just called me from Iran through her landline. I haven’t spoken to her since February. She said that Israel and the US are bombing the regime nonstop. They taped all the windows because the building shakes constantly. I asked if any civilians are getting hurt, and she replied “No, No, No. No normal civilians are getting hurt” Everyone is hanging in there and counting the days for this regime to end and for the return of the Shah. 🇮🇷

Somehow, we still have internet! Heater is on, but we had a big snow and now overnight deep freeze of -45F, so I suspect that's the culprit. Either way, grateful for @Starlink and @elonmusk up here in the frozey 907!

@Alexphysics13 i love how despite the clarity, everyone is still speculating on the cause. It means one of thousands of GSE parts/sensors went slightly out of spec. They abort super conservatively for safety—usually something minor like a sticky valve or sensor glitch.

@Alexphysics13 Yeah spacex have shown repeatedly that they don't need a complete or "successful" test to move forward or fix problems.

It's funny how the mineral deposits from the deluge can actually be a good indicator of which engines fired. They're not using purified water so there will be material deposited over the hotter surfaces as the water vapor that contacts it evaporates quicker. You can see it especially striking over the lox supply to the fuel preburner where there's regen channels around it, clearly outlining mineral deposits on top of the engine thanks to the matte black coating making it especially obvious

British blokes…. I’ve purchased several “tins” of Heinz (British) beans because the idea of beans on toast intrigues me. I eagerly anticipate a tasting. Other than toasting bread and heating beans… Are there any other steps/ingredients?

@GregBaldwinIroh Butter the bread. Add some salt and sugar to the beans because they took loads out and ruined them. Tiny bit of Worcester sauce also goes well in there too.

@QuickBooks I'm disgusted by how much you put your prices up! When I joined it was £25 a month it's now £46! It went up £6 at the start of the year! Shocking that you get people using your platform then rag them for money.

So let's fast forward to 2 months from now. The war in Iran is long over and that terrorist nation is no longer a threat. Hamas and Hezbollah have been wiped out.  Gas prices have fallen below $2 a gallon. Stocks are back to their all-time highs. With the Iranian threat gone in the Middle East investment pours into the area. Rebuilding starts in Gaza. The US economy takes off as all of that newly onshored business starts hiring. And once again Democrats have nothing. I'm feeling pretty good about the midterms. Thoughts? ⬇️

@SNDLCKENG @dpoddolphinpro @NASA That's the conclusion I jumped to but was unsure whether it was true. Deep thermal cycling of thin metal tanks would seem to produce fatigue. Sound like a good subject for a YouTube video, maybe? Scott Manley

No WDR? Yup - @NASA isn't planning to conduct another Wet Dress Rehearsal ahead of Artemis II, despite the TSMU LOx seals being replaced, the historical difficulties with LH2, and the work on the ICPS Helium seal. "We've already tested the new QD in the VAB", said Shawn Quinn, Manager, Exploration Ground Systems Program. Lori Glaze, Acting Associate Administrator, Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate, wants the next time SLS is tanked to be a launch attempt. I asked if this means they have definitively ruled out any Partial Tanking tests, or Integrity tests. "At this point we have demonstrated that the seals that we have are the best seals we've ever had". "There's not more to be gained [from a Partial Tanking or Integrity Test]." 📷 @_MaxQ_/@NASASpaceflight

Damnit. I hope for a good ending, but there are no parachutes on the KC-135 anymore, removed long ago. A crash landing can be survived in some instances, but it depends on circumstance & terrain. Let’s hope.

@dpoddolphinpro @NASA She mentioned that there was wear associated with each test. That implies to me that you can ruin some part of the rocket by conducting too many wet test rehearsals. I'm wondering what the mechanism is there.
