Just launched another app I’ve been working on. You can look at teams over custom time periods, track how they evolve, and check things like scatter plots, shot maps, and projections for matches or full seasons. 🔗 teamslab.streamlit.app

@Ho15071507 They follow these percentiles: 2.5, 10, 20, 35, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 95, 99. Using fixed intervals would make every jump look the same, which hides how big the gap in raw values usually is between “great” (90th) and “elite” (99th) players.

@ScoutLabApp While I was looking at the radar chart, I think it's interpret in terms of percentile rank but I found the interval seems to be inconsistent. For the first 4 the interval is 12.5?, after that, the interval for each ring is 10? But for the last two rings, the interval is 5?

@kwakujr23 I’ll add the UEFA competitions at the end of the week after the second legs. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to past seasons, it will be from 25/26 onwards.

@ScoutLabApp Fantastic design, this is visually digestible & appealing than Fbref's actual outlay tbh Will you ever add Champions league data and past season data in general?

@blue_cicada8 I already have a private app for that, but it’s more focused on xG because I use it for betting/projections. It would need some tweaks, but I could probably publish it in not too much time.

@ScoutLabApp keeps getting better and better! will you add team stats in the future? (rolling xg average, ppda...) or will you keep it exclusive to player data?

Just as a note: I’ve moved away from Opta’s progressive carry definition, as it tends to include too many short carries in the defensive third. Still using their event data, but with a methodology closer to prog. passes. There is a glossary at the bottom of the first page.

@ScoutLabApp will there be historical data the following season? and the option to compare two seasons of the same player?

Following some suggestions, I’ve added a few new features to the app: 🎯 Radar color customization 🛡️ Option to view Padj. or raw defensive stats 📊 Age filter in player rankings 🤝 Similarity Score page to find comparable players Feedback is always welcome.

@blue_cicada8 Those I had to calculate using Opta’s event data. I’ve included the definitions used at the bottom of the page.

@DataFutScout wow. Is the progressive passing data also from Opta? I can't find it anywhere on their site. Anyways great work!!

@DrPusky Right now it comes from Opta Analyst, and the only other leagues available there are the UEFA competitions. I’ll probably try to migrate later, but it may take some time to think about adding more leagues. As for your idea, it sounds good, I’ve put it on my list.

@DataFutScout Hey man, great work so far! I was wondering if you are playing to add in the future more leagues and player searching based on what percentile they are in a given metric. Also we're are you getting this data from?

@DataFutScout Love it, is there an update coming to change colors for the radar? The numbers are also grey and not visible enough w/o zooming in.

@AppsFooty @DataFutScout I have checked this out, and while this is a fantastic tool, it doesn't have player similarity function (only has player comparison as far as I'm aware) But this is one of the best fbref alts out there.

Does anyone on football Twitter have a good player similarity tool which is working for the top 5 leagues right now? Please point me towards some of them. Thank you!

@DataFutScout Maybe I just dont see it, but an option to toggle to switch between seasonal or per90 stats would be cool, especially in the "Ranking" tab

@ScoFootInsight Unfortunately, I don’t have access to it. The only other national leagues available are League One and League Two, but I could add the UEFA competitions later.
