We've redesigned Claude Code on desktop. You can now run multiple Claude sessions side by side from one window, with a new sidebar to manage them all.

Now in research preview: routines in Claude Code. Configure a routine once (a prompt, a repo, and your connectors), and it can run on a schedule, from an API call, or in response to an event. Routines run on our web infrastructure, so you don't have to keep your laptop open.

Most people use AI like a black box and jump straight into coding, but the real leverage comes from turning a markdown file into the center of your workflow. Start by asking Claude/Codex to write a plan.md with the problem, constraints, architecture, and approach, and treat that document as the source of truth for everything that follows. You review it in your editor, add inline notes, challenge assumptions, and refine the thinking until it’s actually solid. Instead of rewriting prompts, you point directly to the exact place in the document where something is wrong and annotate the fix right there, working at your own pace without losing clarity. Then you send it back to Claude/Codex to update the plan, repeating this loop until you’re satisfied. Only after that, you generate a todo list and start coding. The key is that this markdown becomes shared mutable state between you and your agent, a living knowledge base that keeps everything aligned and means you don’t have to re-explain context every time you start a new chat. You’re not prompting anymore, you’re collaborating through a system 🤝
