Statements like this, the day after an alleged attempted assassination, are exactly the kinds of things that feed conspiracy theories that it was staged. The fact that the very next morning you’re seizing on this opportunity to try and convince everyone that a ballroom would’ve prevented this event attack, is absurd at face value. The problem wasn’t the venue, the problem was the incredible lack of security measures. Had you merely had normal security for a White House event – like virtually every other time they had had an event with the president at that exact venue – none of this would ever have happened. Numerous event attendees were shocked at the absence of security measures that allowed anyone to get into the hotel lobby without having to go through metal detectors. How in the world could you possibly have had an event with the president of the United States, after allegedly two assassination attempts already, without having a standard security measure like that? You can have a half a billion dollar ballroom with all the latest technology – but if you don’t use that technology, like it wasn’t used last night in the hotel facility, the ballroom is no better than that hotel. This just looks like a cheap attempt to exploit emotions to try and get something you want.
