Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it.
Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying.
Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence."
Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter."
Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter.
They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created.
One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility."
Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies.
That's the metered intelligence business model.
And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.

I will say, though, that Elton John still sounded phenomenal at Rush's wedding. I can't remember how old Elton was at the time. But I saw a clip of Paul McCartney the other day -- I think he's early 80s -- and it was really bad. And I am a big fan of the Beatles and McCartney. And, to be clear, none of this is intended as a put down, as many in the replies thought, but it was more an observation and a question. I am 73 and still working every day doing what I've always done. But vocals are different IMHO. They just aren't as rich at a certain point in a person's/singer's life.

I have kids ranging from toddlers to teenagers and I still think the newborn phase (especially for a first time parent) is the hardest by far. I remember being a younger parent and hearing older parents constantly whine about how much harder it gets. Turns out they were exaggerating for attention and pity. Parenting gets A LOT easier over time. Your kids get more mature and so do you. That’s how it should work if you’re doing it right anyway.

lol I called the feds would go after Hasan for the Cuba trip like 3 months ago. It’s a shame I got owned so hard by the 2024 election because my predictive batting average is like 98% otherwise
He actually might be in serious trouble. I don’t like the sanctions on Cuba so I don’t support going after anyone for those exclusively, but Hasan admitted he had connections with Cuban agents who set up the trip. Let me give you a hypothetical scenario here that would end with Hasan in prison for quite some time
Hasan went to China and Cuba at the invitation of their governments and then after the Cuba trip he suddenly decided to engage a marketing firm and do everything he could to detoxify his brand and infiltrate the Democratic Party. If there are emails with his Cuban “friends” where they advise him on how to help “the cause” by finagling his way into Democratic Party functions, and also they maybe paid for his stay in that government hotel in Cuba, then congratulations, genius! You are now a paid agent working on behalf of a hostile foreign government without identifying yourself as such.
In other words, you are a spy actively working to infiltrate one of America’s two primary political parties. I don’t know for sure that’s what happened but it fits with all the available evidence and if that is what happened have fun avoiding federal prison big guy

This is the greatest music video of all time, and it won't be surpassed. It required a specific context that simply can't be replicated, a context that involves Cash's past, and what he had in common with Trent Reznor, plus the exact moment this came along in the former's life.

"Hurt" is not an original by Johnny Cash. The song was written by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) in 1994 for the album The Downward Spiral. Rick Rubin had to insist several times on Cash recording his version, at first Johnny found the idea completely insane because the original version is industrial and noisy. At 71, already very ill, almost blind and with trembling hands, Cash completely transformed the band. The iconic video, directed by Mark Romanek, was filmed at the House of Cash (his own museum). June Carter Cash appears looking at him fondly, the video was shot in February 2003, a few months before she died (May) and Johnny himself (September). Trent Reznor was so moved that he declared, "This song is not mine anymore." It is considered one of the best covers of all time.
