I recently learned that in cold places people turn on cars to heat up the engine before driving. Always found it odd when I saw people sitting in parking lots with their cars turned on. Always interesting tidbits to learn when living in different places.

Question - is it standard practice for data consortiums to charge a fee for members to join? I know the give-to-get model is very common, but I'm not sure about the fee to join? Seems weird given that you'd also be charging for the intelligence coming out the other end?

how do you send images or links to yourself? from computer to phone and v-v. I have an empty whatsapp group and use that to send notes and images to myself. Works fine but wondering if there is a better way.
