@MarcHeathym007 Do both Marc. Bird the downs early morning & the winter, then switch to Nethergong once the weather has warmed up. Then switch back to the Downs in the autumn.

Having the usual dilemma of where to bird next year. Herne Bay Downs has offered 160 odd species this year but a lack of dragonflies etc which I've missed. Nethergong area gets about 130 species a year but offers dragonflies galore and other wildlife. Doing my own head in.

@dbbirding @nethergongcampi @KentishPlover @Britnatureguide @NatureUK They seemed to get up from a field near Chitty Lane and then flew towards Grove, where they seemed to be going down again just east of Grove I suspect.

Superb morning birding the @nethergongcampi area. 2 patch ticks with 68 PINK FOOTED GEESE and 6 EGYPTIAN GEESE. Also 1 Woodcock, 2 Raven and 10 Mandarin. @KentishPlover @Britnatureguide @NatureUK

#MyPatch yesterday....4 Sandwich Tern on slipway posts, approx 250 Brent Geese near slipway. 100's Golden Plover on E scape, much more. Lovely to get out, poor heath has held me back this year....glad to see back of it!

@gibbard_crisis Don't advertise it too much, I like the peace there. There's some good birds to be found in the area if you put the time in.

A lovely stay in Deal this weekend. The Deal Bookshop has a well stocked natural history section (more books bought) and the little seafood area at Jenkins & son fishmongers served a very nice fish bun. The more important wildlife sightings are over on the other channel

Happy to find my own YB warblers, 2 at Swale Way Bridge, next to Marshall & 1 further down to Milton Creek mouth yesterday. My second Bearded tit colony is doing well. Will fill up the grit tray for the coming winter.
