Indeed. I’m interested to hear what the LGO has to say because if this is a lie, it’s being fed to cllrs and commissioners which is extremely damaging. They ought to be questioning such claims and asking for evidence rather than just believing it at face value because they want so badly for it to be true! Delusion of the highest standard lol! I’ve written to the LGO asking for confirmation of this remarkable claim 🤔

Today, I received the decision that my severely disabled son's specialist transport, which costs £18,000 a year, will be replaced by a personal transport budget. Under this new arrangement, I am expected to provide the same level of specialist service for only 45p per mile. The only reason for this change is my son's age, as we unfortunately fall into the 16-19 category, which coincides with the implementation of a cost-saving travel policy by the ever heartless @BhamCityCouncil. It seems that the establishment is once again congratulating themselves on improvements that none of us can see or feel. All approved by their paid parent carer forum, further reinforcing the lack of transparency and accountability. I am the parent who will challenge this decision and find out if the @LGOmbudsman truly refuses to investigate any more complaints regarding this service. Stay posted folks. @samcarlisle @SENDPAG We are working on a trust structure plan for homes like these. Parents can fund the purchase with a loan that’s repayable over time through allowances (or forgivable). Not fully baked yet but hope to have a structure by the end of the summer.
