@Ellie_May_R @darwintojesus You're not unlovable. What a horrible message Christianity preaches. If you're unlovable that's because God made you that way.

Here's a few questions for you: 1. Why does God exist? 2. What method did God use to create the universe? 3. Why are humans the only observable conscious beings that God created? 4. Why did God create anything at all? And you can't just be agnostic. I need detailed and specific answers to each one.

@darwintojesus I really want to help agnostics understand this. Holding the position ‘we just don’t know’ in regards to the big questions like why are we here, isn’t just a statement of words. It has profound ramifications on how you live your life. & it’s severely detrimental in the long term

The number 1 thing atheists simply cannot understand is this: If you change the foundation of reality, you change reality. You can’t change how and why everything is here and expect for nothing else to change. Our understanding of morality, meaning, science, personhood, choice, design, beauty, rationality, etc…. All of it. All of it changes.

@darwintojesus @LarsTheBadMan Ahh yes, coherent sentences from D2J: "This is a very* simple concept, if reality is fundamentally different then that will reality would be different than it is."

No I’m not on drugs but you might be. This is a very* simple concept, if reality is fundamentally different then that will reality would be different than it is. Do I need to explain to you how possible worlds work? So a possible world with an evil God would be very different than a possible world with a benevolent God, and those would be different from a world that is produced by no God. These are all fundamentally different worlds, because their cause is fundamentally different, therefore the output would be different. Are you understanding this now or do I need to draw this with crayons?

God is described as an immutable mind. How can you have a relationship with something that can't change? A mind that doesn't change at all seems incoherent to me. And if love is meaningful because it's freely chosen, then how does that apply to God? If God can't choose not to love (because that would go against his nature) then in what sense is that love a free, relational act?

@Tim0riginal @darwintojesus The sustaining mind concept wouldn’t make sense absent a personal relationship. Not sure why those would be at odds.

@QuestionerMoney @FFRF @deadendorphin53 Christians have to believe in the concept of no God in order to believe such a God really exists. See how stupid you sound? 🤦‍♂️

No. Atheism isn’t a belief system—it’s the absence of one. It doesn’t come with doctrines, rituals, or a required worldview. It simply means you’re not convinced that gods exist. What you believe beyond that is up to you.

@ExcuseMeDyaMind @FFRF What convinced you that you found the correct deity to worship? Also I do have a belief system, however theism is not involved... A-theism. It's really not that difficult.

The concept of God is the concept of a necessarily existing being. A necessarily existing being cannot exist contingently. Therefore, either: God’s existence is impossible, or God’s existence is necessary. The concept of God is not self-contradictory (i.e., not impossible). Therefore, God’s existence is necessary. If God exists necessarily, then God exists in all possible worlds. Therefore, God exists (in the actual world).

@CMonkeyboy86 @stoopidminidisc @blessedpeasant_ @darwintojesus 90% of the people in my life are Christian. I grew up in an evangelical Christian home. Christianity affects the politics in my country more than any other religion. You aren't being persecuted, you're being challenged on beliefs you take for granted as true and it hurts.

@Gilligan354 @MelloFelicia1 With a cyclic universe the average expansion would be zero. Hubble's Law, Redshift, CMB and ΛCDM does not deal with that. But cool name-dropping. My list is a list of hypotheses. No claim of certainty. You don't have "certainty". Try to get something right for a change.

So killing children is a ok since they go straight to heaven 🥰 a place that has never been proven to exist. Surely you're pro-abortion then right? The majority of heavens inhabitants would come from it, since the vast majority of people alive or have ever lived we'rent Christian.
