Here are some of my favorite books from when I was a boy. I just felt like posting. Maybe some of you know some of them. "Johnny Tremain", made into a very good film. 1/2

The Bears don’t want to give this bullshit government ownership rights to a stadium that the city is paying ZERO for. All they asked for was tax certainty when it comes to taxes for 10 years. They wanted to know what they were gonna be paying over the course of 10 years and nobody could do that. They also wanted that fat ass governor to work on the roads to stoplight in the infrastructure that is pretty bad over there in Arlington Heights. But no, they can find $3.9 million for legal immigrants per year to house them in hotels by Ford city and then Hyde Park but they can’t fix the infrastructure for a project. That’ll bring jobs and money to the state. The only reason Chicago wants an ownership in the stadium is so they can get the money for the parking, the concessions, the security, and the maintaining of the stadium and field to play. I credit the bears for going out and getting public financing from investors and using their money to build a stadium that they’ll own and can control everything. The state of Illinois sucks the life right out of its taxpayers and that’s why so many people are leaving. And I applaud the bears if they moved to Hammond for making a decision they’re the best for them. There are several examples such as the giants and jets being from New York playing in New Jersey, the 49ers being from San Francisco and playing in Santa Clara, Buffalo playing in Orchard Park in the Redskins playing in Virginia. The Cardinals originally saying they’re the Phoenix Cardinals, but returning to the Arizona Cardinals because they played in Glendale and not Phoenix. I support the Bears doing what’s best for the Bears organization and the McCaskey family.

@TheView Dumb Ass Hostin needs an education: 1. Pre-Greek inhabitants (Neolithic foundation, ~7000–3000 BCE):
The earliest farming populations in Greece and the Aegean came from western Anatolia (modern Turkey) as part of the spread of agriculture into Europe. These people are the main genetic ancestors of both the Minoans (Crete) and the later Mycenaeans. Ancient Greek writers often called these pre-Greek peoples “Pelasgians”—a catch-all term for the indigenous, non-Greek-speaking inhabitants of Greece before the arrival of Greek-speakers. The Pelasgians were described as speaking a “barbarian” (non-Greek) language and were said to have occupied much of the mainland, islands, and even parts of Anatolia. These early populations were genetically very similar to early Neolithic farmers from Anatolia, with olive-to-light-brown skin, dark hair, and brown eyes being the most common traits. 2. Arrival of the Proto-Greeks (Indo-European speakers, ~2200–1600 BCE):
The Greek language belongs to the Indo-European family. Linguistic and archaeological evidence indicates that speakers of an early form of Greek entered the southern Balkans from the north (ultimately linked to steppe pastoralist cultures via the Balkans). These migrants mixed with the local Neolithic/Anatolian-derived population. By ~1600 BCE this fusion produced the Mycenaean civilization—the first recognizably “Greek” culture, with palaces at Mycenae, Pylos, and elsewhere, Linear B writing (the earliest form of Greek), and the heroic society described in later myths like the Trojan War. 3. Genetic evidence (the key modern data):
Landmark ancient-DNA studies analyzed skeletons from Mycenaean and Minoan sites: • Minoans (pre-Greek Crete): ~75–80% ancestry from Neolithic Anatolian farmers + small amounts from Caucasus/Iran-related sources. • Mycenaeans (the “original” Greeks of the Heroic Age): genetically very similar to Minoans but with an additional 10–20% ancestry from a northern source ultimately related to Yamnaya-steppe pastoralists (the vector that also brought Indo-European languages and some cultural elements). • Modern Greeks are remarkably close to these Bronze Age Mycenaeans, sharing the same basic ancestral mix (majority Neolithic Anatolian + steppe component) with only minor later admixtures from Slavic, Roman, and other migrations. In other words, the core population of Greece has shown strong genetic continuity for over 4,000 years.
In short: the “original Greeks” (the people who spoke Greek and built the Mycenaean palaces that Homer later romanticized) were a hybrid of local Neolithic Anatolian farmers (the Pelasgian substrate) and incoming Indo-European Proto-Greek speakers (northern/steppe-related ancestry). The resulting Mycenaean civilization is the direct cultural and genetic ancestor of classical and modern Greeks.

Per @Grok : Homer's Iliad describes Helen as "white-armed" with fair skin and golden hair features, aligning with ancient Greek self-depictions of Mediterranean European populations.

@shipwreckedcrew The Democrat power base and media are publicly and strongly opposing Harris when she is the front runner, by far the most popular candidate with Black Dem voters and far more popular than Newsom. Their bench is the weakest in decades. Harris is the only Dem with a solid base.

The Dem primary in 2027 is going to be: Bernie Sanders Kamala Harris Gavin Newsom Pete Buttigieg John Ossoff Josh Shapiro JB Pritzker Bernie will be really just a stalking horse for the DSA, and there will be 2-3 DSA candidates below that first tier. Maybe AOC, certainly Ro Khanna. Bernie will be "in" to drive some of the others out because the "Bernie Bros" and DSA activists will line up behind him and starve the lesser candidates of money and attention. Ossoff, Shapiro, and Pritzker will be sacrificed at the alter of Anti-Semitism which is almost a religion for a certain segment of the Bernie-Bro base, and stigmatizes them with a wider segment of the activists so they won't do well early, and will drop out. Buttigieg is playing for the VP slot. He'll just hang around with money from both coasts. It will come down to Sanders, Harris, and Newsom. But Sanders is there only to run out the riff-raff. His presence will be to boost the best performing DSA member in the group -- AOC, Khanna or someone else not yet on the radar. Newsom will eventually drop out because he's straight white guy, and in a party dominated by single liberal women and minorities, he's not one of those. It will come down to Harris and whichever DSA candidate Bernie throws his support to, with Harris being the "Joe Biden" for 2028. It does not matter how bad she is as a candidate, in the nominating process the rationalization will be the 4 year separation from Biden's Presidency, the 104 days of 2024, the way she was treated as Biden's VP for 4 years, and the continuing animating idea in the Dem party that its past time for a minority female POTUS. One thing that will be very different -- her campaign is learning right now from the first 6 months of Trump 2.0. They will hit the campaign trail after the 2026 midterms with a full binder of thought-out and well-crafted policy statements. This term of the Supreme Court has given them a huge gift -- the decisions on the Voting Rights Act and its impact on redistricting. She's going to ride that as a central theme.

Secretary Marco Rubio
For decades, Cuba has been the world capital for radical left-wing terrorism. The regime in Havana has recruited, trained and backed violent Marxist and third-worldist movements across our hemisphere and beyond. Today, we are targeting the network that enables and funds Cuba's subversive and radical operations. Pursuant to sanctions authorities created by President Trump’s groundbreaking Cuba Executive Order, I am designating the following entities: 1. Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba (MINFAR) 2. Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) 3. Amistur Cuba S.A. 4. Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) 5. Minera La Victoria S.A. Anyone providing services to these sanctioned actors is at risk of sanctions themselves. Foreign banks and other companies that provide services to these entities should freeze those activities. The Trump Administration will no longer tolerate radical Marxist regimes in our hemisphere seeking to threaten U.S. national security and engage in influence operations to export their poisonous and evil “revolution” to our country and around the world.

Oooooof. Imagine being a Democrat strategist right now. You know you have to convert these opportunities in 2026 because Republicans will likely flip AZ GA NV and even NH in 2028, as Democrats will be dragged down by Buttigieg or Harris. And then in 2030, they have to defend MI WI NV AZ all over again. And you know that Democrats deliberately made Platner the face of the party, leaning into his pseudo-populist appeal and status as a veteran. They tied themselves to him. And now it's all coming undone for them. Graham will fall. Then Talarico. Ossoff likely next. Pappas too. Brown, Peltola, and Josh Turok will likely find Dem donors wallets empty. Abdul El-Sayed will almost certainly be the candidate in Michigan to overcompensate for Platner. He too will likely lose, a victim of the rapidly diminished Democrat brand. The pain must be great for them. The fear and loathing is piling up. Yes, I think you should pity the poor Democrat strategist. This is all they have. And they're losing it hard and fast. But they chose this fate. They had choices! Sinema or sleazy Gallego. Fetterman or creepy Casey. And Collins. They could've just made nice with Susan Collins. Accept that she's the last moderate standing. But no. They choice The Oystergråppenführer. They found a pearl at great price, all right. The price is.....everything!

This is Todd “Let’s Roll” Beamer, who died heroically while trying to retake United Flight 93 from Al Qaeda terrorists on 9/11. His final resting place, is in Cranbury, NJ — where he was living with his wife and children before his murder. Cranbury is located in NJ-12, where the new Democratic nominee for Congress is Adam Hamawy. Hamawy was a close associate and translator to Omar Abdel-Rahman, aka the ‘Blind Sheikh,’ an arch terrorist convicted of masterminding multiple plots against targets in NYC — including the World Trade Center. Hamawy testified at Adbel-Rahman’s trial, as a defense witness. It has also been reported that Hamawy traveled to Bosnia to volunteer at an organization that was later unmasked as an Al Qaeda front group. One of Hamawy’s loudest and most high-profile supporters and endorsers has openly declared that America deserved the 9/11 attacks. Hamawy is now the prohibitive frontrunner to represent Todd Beamer’s district in the United States Congress.
