In a few months Rishi Sunak and Bank of England will say that nobody could have seen the mortgage crisis coming. And it definitely wasn’t their fault. And there was nothing they could have done. And they didn’t cause it by printing money, disastrous policy, greed and incompetence. No. People getting pay rises below the rate of inflation caused it. The UK Government is displaying a colossal dereliction of duty. Personal financial interests of the ruling class are placed ahead of taking emergency action to right the ship and actually help people. The system is corrupt but maybe there will be an “Inquiry” 10 years later which will achieve absolutely nothing. Because this is how the UK Government deals with problems instead of addressing them head on with decisive action.
