@JCampy @s_alderoty @SECGov Nothing about XRP is decentralized. 55% is held by insiders and theres a short list of nodes that can pick who runs a node. If those were commodity traits then all alt coins would be digital commodities and the label would be meaningless. Look into bitcoin

Ask an AI to learn what a commodity is “Traits of a commodity: • No central issuer • No company controlling supply • Supply created by a neutral process • Widely distributed ownership • Value not dependent on a single company” XRP has doesn’t have any of these traits. Yet the stretch to confidently classify it as such is astounding.

For bitcoin, just holding it is usually more tax efficient than bitcoin life insurance. pay no taxes while it appreciates and heirs get a step up in cost basis at death Bitcoin life insurance gives tax deferred growth and a tax free death benefit but you give up custody and pay policy costs. This seems to cater to high net worth clients who need estate planning Would you give up your Bitcoin to a BTC insurance company?

Bitcoin life insurance is an interesting idea but the tradeoff is you are giving custody of your bitcoin to a company you get protection for your family but you take on counterparty risk A big shift from the ethos of cold storage Bitcoin maximalism
