For those people saying, “If @MrsErikaKirk were truly grieving, she would’ve taken a year off for her kids and therapy”: Coretta Scott King led a march in Memphis DAYS after MLK’s assassination and kept fighting for civil rights for decades. Myrlie Evers-Williams jumped right into activism after Medgar’s murder, raised their 3 kids, and later ran the NAACP. Ethel Kennedy raised 11 children while pushing the Kennedy family’s political and social causes. Betty Shabazz, who was there when Malcolm X was killed, raised their 6 daughters, got her doctorate, became a prominent activist, and spent her life protecting his legacy. Elisabeth Elliot stayed in the jungle with the tribe that murdered her husband and kept doing missionary work. Some women are just built different. They throw themselves into their husband’s cause instead of falling apart. It’s called “immersion” and is common in grief. You might not like it, but you don’t matter. That woman will protect and continue her husband’s legacy, no matter how awful you people are.

Well, we aren’t even halfway through 2026 and we have: a Nazi running for democrats up north, the SPLC, a far left organization full of mostly black people, funding the KKK and other racists, Tucker lying and denying a clip of himself saying Trump is the antichrist even after being shown that he said it, Shawn Ryan glizzing fat Cenk like his life depends on Muslim peen, Candace Owens juggling multiple lawsuits and no Jewish attorneys to represent her, Nick Fuentes tired of politics because the closet is getting smaller and everyone knows he’s paid to act like a white racist, but really he’s just a little gay Mexican, Dave Smith realizing that the Jew haters will turn on Kapos as well, the Pope saying woke and socialist things, the SCOTUS stopping democrats from being racist… again, a 20ish year old kid and his mom exposing hundreds of millions in fraud, and still… despite many of our best efforts, thousands and thousands of people have fallen for propaganda made for illiterate Russian peasants. What a time to be alive.

I spent 13 years, from 1986 to 1999, performing as an actor in the National Black Touring Circuit's production of I HAVE A DREAM, telling the story of Martin Luther King Jr. I played all the white characters, from Bull Connor to JFK, and was the only white member of the cast. It was a musical, multimedia show, with slides and screens. I even sang a solo song, portraying a white man who was killed while marching for civil rights for all. It wasn't a year long gig: we went out in January and February, usually, centered around MLK's birthday and black history month. When I first started doing it, it was my only paying gig, and I was so grateful for it. But even after my film career got going, I did it whenever I could, because I loved the people I worked with and I loved the message we spread. And the audiences loved the show. It brought the right mix of emotion and message, and honored Dr. King's work. We even performed at the MLK center in Atlanta, for Coretta King herself. I will never forget meeting her. It remains my longest and best theatrical experience. I still have a good friend from that production. Woodie King Jr. was the producer, a legendary giant of New York theatre, who passed away within the last year. The demand for the show dried up. Why? Because the Democrat party no longer supports Dr. King's vision for this country as a color blind society. Without racism as an issue, the Democrat party has nothing. So Dr. King, for them, fell out of fashion. MLK's dream is not just useless to them. It is the exact opposite of what they want, which is to divide us by race and pit us against one another to increase their power through grievance, hate, and division. The modern Democrat party no longer reveres Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He wasn't racist enough for them. Dr. King had a dream, but that dream no longer suits the Democrat party. And in fact, if you look back through the history of the party -- perhaps it never did.
