@KeruboSk I’m seeing a lot of men choosing Filipino wives when they are ready to settle down. The Filipino ladies want to get married.

For years we've been told that women are the ones who want marriage and babies, while men want to be single and free. But for some bizarre reason, now that more women are choosing to stay single and child-free, a surprising number of men are getting very angry about this.

@end3of6days9 $6,000 seems pretty reasonable. I paid more than that 10 years ago for one kid. It cost $24,000 for all my kids braces. Insurance paid $4,000 of that.

This mom gets the estimate for her teenage son's braces and her reaction is pure, relatable shock. She sits there staring at the paper: over $6,000 for full top-and-bottom braces. "What? Like who can afford over $6,000 for braces?" she says, voice cracking with disbelief. Her son needs them for an overbite and just one or two crooked teeth—"his teeth aren't even that crooked"—but it's still full treatment. She thought maybe it was $1,900 or something (perhaps a down payment), but nope, the numbers are real. He's got two insurances (one through mom, one through dad), yet the estimate only factors in dad's. She hopes hers kicks in more, especially since her daughter only needed top braces before. But even so, she's floored: "Oh my god, this can't be real. This can't be real. Parents, is this real?" This is the everyday reality hitting so many families right now. A basic need like fixing your kid's teeth turns into a massive financial gut punch—thousands out of pocket, even with insurance, while you're already dealing with life’s other curveballs. Kids shouldn't have to go without straight teeth and confidence because orthodontics costs more than a used car. Parents shouldn't have to choose between braces and bills. Who's been hit with a braces quote that made you do a double-take? Or is this just what we Americans have to deal with in 2026?

@DelusionPosting Whenever anyone says “Just so we are clear”, the next thing said is so bizarre that the only thing that is clear is that someone is suffering from a form of mental illness.

I’m okay with showing an ID to vote. I’m not okay with needing a passport, birth certificate, and marriage certificate which is what the SAVE act would require for tens of millions of women.

Is it possible Trump’s failure in Iran is causing him to shift his aggression to a weaker target like Cuba? The United States has become bully of the world.

First day on the job, working my way through college, I am handed an electric drill and I am told to make a bunch of holes in steel plate. It is slow going and I wear out a bunch of bits. 4 hours and I have only about 1/4th of the holes done and I am exhausted. I take my lunch and go back and notice a lever on the drill labeled For/Rev. I flip it and finished the rest of the holes in about 45 minutes. I had been drilling backwards all morning. I had a 3.97 GPA in college at the time. Because I was so smart, I never did that again. I remind myself of that day if I ever start feeling too cocky.

First thing we skills test for is "can you run a cordless drill". 98% of guys under 35 in fact cannot. They can't run a cordless drill properly, safely. You aren't going to learn to be a plumber or electrician in 2 years because you don't even know enough to change a tire.

I was born in the 60’s. Everything is easier now. It will be even easier in 10 years. Back then a 10 yr old car was headed for the junkyard, today a 2016 car is quite nice. The phone book was our internet. The first thing you did when driving in a new town was to buy a paper map. Most food was made from scratch and took hours to prepare. Our news was heavily filtered and days after the fact. You had to take a class or read a book to learn things. Organic food was wilted and sickly looking. Computer programming was hard. Although there was a keyboard, there was no mouse, or even a screen, just a paper printout. Stick with the fundamentals and you will be fine, no need to get lost in the weeds. I tried to spend time every week learning a new aspect of my job. Intentionally like it was my job.

There’s a reason we have IQ tests and not wisdom tests. “Wisdom” is a cope term favoured by people who score low on IQ tests. Seems very obvious.

It’s your body, you can pay people to do all kinds of things to it: piercings, implants, plastic surgery, nose jobs, etc. They will even cut things off if they bother you sufficiently. Anything that is permanent you have to be aware of the side effects. For example: if you get a hysterectomy, your body will go into menopause.
