@tracy_lynnee I was there so I did not hear this live and we had no vcr at the time to record it. In fact, this may be the first time I have heard this play by play. It is a special memory that I shared with my grandfather. It was the most excited I ever saw him.

@cfnps @merissahansen17 Shure hasn't made PA "mixers' in many years. In-line keyboard mixers but not front of house. Looks like a generic 2 on a pole. Probably supplied by the school AV dept. The JFK rifle shots were picked on on cheap police radio mics in 1963.

Again, don’t know the mixer or its settings. Same with the phone that did this recording. He traveled and made his reputation and money doing these shows. Doubt he would not bring his own team and equipment. Old police radios were designed to amplify sound. I wasn’t suggesting it was a Shure mixer (made a point of calling them old). Just using it as an example of the avaliblity of limiters.

Those were just guesses or possibilities I could think of. We are also hearing the sound through a phone that was recording this so hard to make a judgement. Even old cheap Shure mixers have limiters. And auto mixers are not expensive anymore and built into some mixers now. Do not see the audio setup, so I don’t know what was being used.

@cfnps @merissahansen17 -Omni mic (large round head). Can tell by evenness in voices of questioner and Charlie -low budget audio system, no limiters/noise gates. -no silencers found on gun in woods

@chuckmaddenpics @merissahansen17 You mean on the out door system speakers? Directional microphones. Limiters on the mixer. Mixer was more than likely set for auto mixing and sensitive to voice while rejecting other noises. Also, did the shooter use a silencer?

@merissahansen17 I haven't seen this clip. As an audio engineer I'm perplexed. There are 2 "live" mics. One in Charlie's hand, another in the audience for questions. Why is the gunshot sound not being amplified by either/both?

@luxemiaa @Delta If the seat has been paid for, then a refund or compensation can be sought. Moving seats for other passengers on a request or whim is not Delta best practice. Other circumstances may have been in play, but it's unusual based on how I was trained & taught to handle seat changes.

So Delta moved my seat without asking me. I'm standing in the airport and I get a notification that I've been reassigned to a different comfort plus seat. I paid for the seat I was in specifically so I could sit next to my boyfriend who also paid for his seat specifically so he could sit next to me. I walk up to the counter and the agent tells me they moved me because another couple wanted to sit together. I'm sorry what. I am also a couple. Who also wants to sit together. Move me back. There was a whole discussion about this but eventually she did it. Get on the plane and the couple in question is right in front of me. The gate agent looks at them and says loudly so sorry we couldn't get you seated together and then turns and gives ME a stink eye when I scan my boarding pass. Me. The person who simply asked to keep the seat I had already purchased. Then the guy........
