What a lovely piece of ventriloquism. You’ve taken a remark about crime and poverty, stapled on “thick,” then paraded it as if anyone said it. They didn’t. The original point wasn’t “poor people are stupid,” it was that poverty alone isn’t a sufficient cause of crime, because traits and circumstances confound the correlation.
If you want to talk about crime, try the boring reality: rape, murder, fraud, domestic violence, serial offending — these are not bread-theft born of empty cupboards.
They show up across classes, and often where there is no “necessity” story to tell. So yes, poverty can be a factor in some offences, but pretending it’s the master key for all of them is just moral theatre dressed as social science.
And the best part is your line about “thick.” Are you trying to say your readers are thick, or merely that you need them to be for this to land?
@benonwine Couple of points, that’s obviously a sample he’s using and he and the shop assistants are not speaking English.
So no theft and not in England then.
You’re so desperate to turn things to your narrative you’re doing nonsense like this, pathetic.
This absolute low life films himself stealing perfume in the UK, and the store manager can’t do anything about it.
This is Lawless Britain!
Detain and Deport.
@GoldingBF You’ve never seen a bunch of dickheads draped in flags, covering their faces and letting off flares before? Not been paying a great deal of attention then have you.
@Free_ByTheSea@Keir_Starmer When he went through the gen pop security like everyone, that would have been totally the case. Oh yeah that doesn’t happen to the PM. What an idiotic thing to say. Must. Try. Harder.
@darrengrimes Has to happen. I was in Cardiff a few months ago and a group of older ‘men’ arrived on bicycles and ran in and emptied the shelves in Greggs. They must have stolen hundreds of pounds worth. The lady who worked there said it happened daily and the police weren’t interested.
…but down another line via a few twists and turns were Ronnie and Reggie and he’d got something in their will. Grandad John died a few years later, he was great. He taught me how to play guitar so in a way, he’s to blame for you reading this.
I love a loose connection to a famous person: going to school with a footballer’s relative, carrying the bags of the Changing Rooms team when I was a bell boy etc. Back in October we played London, I made a trip to the Blind Beggar pub, it was something of a family pilgrimage…
It’s five years to the day since our first ever gig. Things have changed a bit. Eleven members, six drummers. Like Spinal Tap but northern and not funny.
Our October tour starts later this week!! Can’t wait tbh!! Dusted off the Reeboks and polished the Korg. Couple of shows sold out or running low, come get some 👊
