The notion that loving science makes you an atheist or agnostic has always been absurd. The difference between these two men isn't a love for science or the stars. It is the meaning they interpret as they look at the stars. What something "means" goes deeper than science.

@codahz Nothing I say in the post is saying I believe Harry Potter is a Christian movie. I am pointing out the folly of those who find Christian themes in such movies and declar them Christian. Out of curiosity, how did you conclude that I was saying Harry Potter was a Christian movie?

PHM is a charming and fun science fictiony buddy movie that is not woke and family friendly. There is nothing particularly "Christian" about it, though. Just go and enjoy it.

@codahz @ImKingGinger Yes. That is what makes a movie a Christian movie. Hugo was a good movie with a theme of kindness. It isn't a Christian movie because the kindness displayed by the characters did not return people to considering God.

But its got Christian themes and a biblical worldview on the surface. Dive deeper and you find a Creator who's not God

@ImKingGinger @Fred_Butler This is a "if you're not for us you're against us" vs if your not with them you're with us" seesaw battle. Christian music, like Christian films, are a self labeling problem. Christian themes can be in everything, they're in other religions for crying out loud.

Any good story is a Christian story, as Christianity is the standard for Good. What you are trying to do is say that "Christian" is a deeply theological work or something that is only spirtual, as opposed to something in the everyday. It's borderline Gnostic. These category errors is what gives us Boomer Faith Slop.

I am not worried at all about being replaced by AI nor that it will outperform human artists. The problem is that it will flood the market with mediocrity, lowering the value and standards for all art and making it more difficult for meaningful art to emerge from the sea of slop
