SEA OF RED: If both parties MAXXED OUT on gerrymandering, the House would end up with 262 Republicans to 173 Democrats -- according to FiveThirtyEight. That's because Republicans control more state governments with multiple districts, and Democrat voters congregate in cities. This makes it easy-peazy to pack Dem voters into fewer districts.

@jakecobb The stat on number of states is not meaningful as the Congressional seats are allocated by overall population and not by state….

There are currently 12 red state with zero Democrat representatives. That’s nearly 1/4 of US states. Republicans are trying to add 5 more through gerrymandering. That would be more than 1/3 of all states. It’s time to outlaw gerrymandering!

I am torn. DeSantis is a brilliant mind. I have met him, heard him lecture - there are few who are his match intellectually - which is why he belongs on the Supreme Court. On the other hand, he is the most effective manager of a large bureaucracy that I have seen in my lifetime. For instance, I could see him being an excellent Vice President pick in 2028. That talent, which could really help the USA for decades to come - would be wasted, if he was on the Supreme Court.

@timburchett Most of the jobs will be picked up elsewhere in the industry assuming demand won’t decrease due to Spirit’s closure

🚨The Supreme Court has ruled that drawing Congressional districts based on race under the Voting Rights Act is UNCONSTITUTIONAL, 6-3 This is a HUGE win, and could have MASSIVE ramifications for the 2026 midterms Democrats for YEARS have sued over and over again to FORCE states like Louisiana to create black majority districts Louisiana's map has now been thrown out. If SCOTUS ends up gutting the act, a DOZEN Democrat districts could flip red overnight.

@EWErickson Losing a job suddenly is always terrible, but wouldn’t the same net job losses have occurred with a merger? I mean the closure of Spirit does not lessen demand.

Today, 14,000 Americans are waking up unemployed because Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, Lina Khan, and the Biden Administration insisted they were smarter and more knowledgeable about the airline industry than the airline industry itself. Technocrats kill jobs.

@TheLaurenChen I don’t see your point. Don’t all states except Nebraska and Maine award all electoral votes to the popular vote winner?

Want to talk gerrymandering? On the left is how Illinois voters voted in the 2024 Presidential election by precinct On the right is the same election, broken down by congressional district Kamala Harris ended up getting all 19 of Illinois's electoral votes 🤡

🚨 The Supreme Court did not gut voting rights. It gutted the scam of using voting rights language to sort Americans by race and protect Democrat seats. Louisiana is the test case. The Southern House map is the real fight. Americans are citizens, not racial inventory.

In all seriousness, none of the Southern States outside of maybe Florida would've redistricted before the 2026 elections were it not for Virginia rushing through their gerrymandered map. This is 100% on Abigail Spanberger, Louise Lucas, and Don Scott. GOP will likely erase most if not all of the gains Dems made for 2026 with their gerrymander. They were likely to be 7-4 anyway, and they went for 10-1. That's a 3 seat gain that could be erased by Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee. Then, Florida's 4 seats is a pure gain. The South outside of Florida would've all waited until 2028 if Virginia didn't overreach.

@bennyjohnson I think the disenfranchised you speak of pales in comparison to the disenfranchisement and centuries of injustice experienced by others.

The South will look like this in 2026. Then we start ICE raids on Atlanta and Charlotte to finish the job. Don’t be mad. This is just reparations to hard-working disenfranchised Deep South Americans who have had their civil rights unconstitutionally stolen by racist Democrats.

BREAKING: Democrats are now set to lose ALL of their U.S. House seats in Alabama now that Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has called a special session on redistricting. Democrats can't be allowed to rig our elections any longer.

Under the new Supreme Court ruling, black voters still get to vote. They just don't get their own carved-out district just for being black because THAT would be unconstitutional.

Sen. @MarshaBlackburn calls for a special session to steal representation from majority Black MEMPHIS, making it 9-0 for Republicans in a ~35% Dems state. We are hearing it may happen as soon as next week. The racist, anti-democracy spiral continues. facebook.com/share/v/1ESCwS…

@RepFine Perhaps good to remember that voting rights weren’t equal before the voting rights act…and how thus SCOTUS decision will allow return to that inequality….

The Supreme Court stood with a fundamental American principle: we are all equal no matter your race. This will be considered when states make their new maps thanks to the courage of our U.S. Supreme Court. We should not be drawing them for the benefit of one group or another.
