Congrats — that’s about as long as most devs in the industry.
But saying AI can only “code” feels like a coping take. I’ve used it for infra and architecture decisions too, and it’s been solid (Our product processes millions of messages daily btw)
No one’s saying AI replaces engineers. At the end of the day, it still needs someone behind the keyboard hitting enter.

Who is “us”? Boy I’ve been coding and building systems since 2010 and have two degrees in computer science.
I gave you an expert opinion. Junior developers who truly put in the work to better themselves and understand how systems are actually built are not getting replaced. AI can code, but it can never replace engineering.
Engineering judgement is were engineers earn their worth, and that comes from deep understanding of how systems are built.

If Claude Code can now write code, run the app, debug errors, review pull requests, and even fix bugs automatically
what exactly is left for junior developers to do?

How I use AI for work to resolve bugs/add new features:
1. Describe the problem in “plan” mode
2. Refine the plan (usually i wouldn't have to)
3. AI generates the implementation
4. I review the changes
5. AI generates test cases
6. If tests pass → push + open PR

Plenty.
Writing code was never the hard part.
Understanding what to build, why it matters, handling edge cases, debugging real production issues, and making good decisions, that’s the job.
AI can generate code, but it still doesn’t understand your system or your tradeoffs. That’s where juniors grow into real engineers.

For my entire life as a crypto holder, there was only one crypto I was willing to hold long-term. That crypto was obviously #Bitcoin.
