When I was growing up, we used to play “Police & Thief” inside uncompleted buildings and other open spaces like this. I always liked to play the “thief” as it meant that the “police” would look for me, and they might not be able to find me because of how well I could hide. If I spotted them first, I would simply shout, “gbooaaa”, then say, “I don kill you.” It was a fun game. There were no actual guns, and none of us were actually thieves or policemen. It was all acting. I never thought a day would come when I would actually see Nigerians take up arms and engage in a “Police & Thief” kind of act, where Nigerians are carrying live arms, chasing terrorists who are also returning fire. I am watching this video in disbelief. We have descended into chaos, without blaming those who have chosen to protect themselves as the government has failed to protect them. My heart bleeds.

Fierce fighting broke out between a horde of 50 motorcycle bandits and local vigilantes in Zamfara. Despite having zero protection and armed only with basic local guns, our brave men successfully repelled the raid.

A guy in Hampton built a $5M/year tax software company with his wife as co-founder. @ChKashifAli studied accounting and worked as a journalist for 6 years (including at the WSJ). Then he taught himself to code and worked at Adobe for 3 years. He builds two failed startups. Then comes TaxGPT, an AI accounting software tool (he coded it in 2 days). 3 years later: $5M ARR 6x year-over-year growth 135% net retention 50 employees $6M raised (they went through Y Combinator) Kash runs the whole thing with his wife Isabella as co-founder.

VIDEO: People are asking why are we not killing terrorists even if they have killed others. Well, even in the Bible, the prodigal son was given a chance, so we should give terrorists a chance to repent . - Chief of Army Defence Staff, General Oluyede

I keep repeating this. The biggest disservice Western culture did to Africans was to sell individualism and resilience as the solution, while the real hack behind the scenes for them was community. It was what we always had, but we gave it away. I need to write a thread on this.

The one I prefer the most is “Fuck You Connections.” You will always be fine and not be without money or income because your crew has got your back and you also have theirs. That is also what leads to collective “Fuck You Wealth” and power.

The family wanted to pay ransom for their kidnapped family member. On their way, close to the agreed meeting point, the family met a police checkpoint. Officers on duty asked where they were heading to and they told the officers they wanted to pay ransom for their kidnapped family member. Officers showed empathy and encouraged them to be careful when they get to the location. On getting to the agreed location, after the payment of ransom and all other transactions, kidnappers told family members that on their way back, they will see a police checkpoint (the same checkpoint they saw on their way going) that the officers will ask them how much they pay for the ransom, kidnappers told family members to lie to the police at the checkpoint that they should not mention the amount they pay. It was on talked about on "Let's Talk Show It" on Fresh FM yesterday. Welcome to Nigeria. 😊

This my friends, is why the NPFL and NWFL are better investments than putting all our attention on the National teams. This is why we should invest in our leagues, more than the glamorous media stunt of rewarding National teams with millions of dollars after every tournament DEAR GOVERNMENT, INVEST IN LONG TERM BENEFITS 📝

Yes nau, my uncle is married to two wives, an Igbo woman and a Yoruba woman. In my uncle’s house, peace wasn’t something they talked about it was something they practiced quietly every day. His two wives shared the compound like two sisters who had long ago agreed that rivalry was too expensive. One cooked, the other seasoned. They both loved each other, If one was tired, the other stepped in to help. There was no scoreboard, no keeping count, He’d listened more than he spoke, settled small tensions before they could grow teeth, and never let one feel like a shadow of the other. The children didn’t know division. They ate from whichever pot was closest, slept wherever sleep found them, and called both women “Mom” without hesitation. Nothing in that house was loud, sometimes I wonder if he used jazz
