I guess it creates room to exploit it in funny ways—there's probably some way that converting flat messages to a thread could lose the original context or even make someone look bad. Maybe it's an admin tool only, or something 🤷🏼‍♂️

Idea for @SlackHQ: "Convert messages to thread" — ideally we thread conversations even in topic-specific channels to make things more scannable, but occasionally it gets away from us. Rolling messages into a thread post hoc could be nice.

Here is a heartwarming use of AI: My great Opa kept a journal in Dutch while my mom's dad was dying from cancer in the 1960s. I took the scans, ran it through a model trained on 1900s dutch handwriting. Then I fed that through Anthropic to try correct the OCR'd text. Then I had anthropic translate + format the entire thing It worked REALLY well, and it very readable.

Updated my hacky lil' script for viewing Python PEPs in @obsdmd to use properties, create and link people, and include the PEP body in the note for each PEP. 43 PEPs were added since I last tinkered with this! 😲 github.com/daneah/pep-con…
