I am officially/publicly looking for a wife! Requirements: Catholic Young (around my age) Virgin Things will likely be easier if you already enjoy something like video games and/or anime

@adelheidx333 @marcorizzy Of course, i realize "only" is in *context* of the typical gacha spender, and $60 can be a *lot* to some people to spend on a game, let alone *per year*

@adelheidx333 @marcorizzy This *does* require the discipline to not burn through PSQ in regular summoning, but will only cost, on average, $60/ year for a total of 3 guaranteed SSR servants, again, per year

For the early parts of algebra, i was smart enough to just algorithmize the answer, but that was raw pattern recognition, instead of understanding the process, which is what was actually being taught

Not showing your work in math class is fine until 7th-ish grade when the process becomes the point, rather than the answer itself. I'll admit though, i was frustrated about it until about halfway through 8th grade because i didn't get that.

I would routinely get into arguments with teachers: "You didn't show your work!" "Is my answer correct?" "Yes, but you didn't show your work! That's why you got points deducted!" "Why should I? Do you not know how to solve the problem? I do."

Now in fairness, the literal text suggests surnames should be passed down the mother's side, but Western tradition uses the father's side, so i stick with that.

"thus a man leaves his father and mother, and is joined to his wife, and the two of them become one flesh" One flesh. Not two together. Hyphenating clings the husband to his parents and the wife to hers, preserving their separation instead of strengthening their union
Upstate Federalist@upstatefederlst

Hyphenated last names are a stupid convention that falls apart after the second generation and you're just forcing your kid to go through the hassle of legally changing his name when he's adult. Your kid is not going to grow up to be Jack Porter-Felt-Jameson-O'Connor.

@Vleystation @adelheidx333 They've been slowly adding event CEs back to the mana prism shop, so here's hoping it won't be *too* long. (Not available on JP yet so it's gonna be more than 2 years)

The German in me hates it when a recipe calls for “1 large egg”, no you don’t understand i need to know how many grams of egg this needs. What is the precise ratio of yolk to white.

@adelheidx333 I bet her damage numbers are stupid high, too. The main featured servants have +100% damage in their event, literally doubling their normal damage output. Some events have damage CEs. At MLB, it's another 200%. This is additive, so that Aoko is doing 4x damage just by existing

This is just the typical misdirection of the localization issue. Translation already accounts for proper grammar & flow of language, localizers have absolutely no valid excuse to make the horrific & inaccurate changes they inflict on Japanese media. Faithful translation is what everyone who cares about the quality of Japanese media & experiencing the story as intended is asking for & it's not nearly as tough of an ask as localizers want to pretend it is because they'd rather use their vibes-based approach to pass off what they do as creative writing. It's vandalism to overwrite someone else's work with personal preferences, plain & simple.

I only remember Yamucha's joke(the localized version) because it was the last straw that made me completely disappointed by the whole scene. "You think up your nose is secret, but it's not"

I was so disappointed when watching DBZ. To gain access to King Kai's training, Goku needed to make him laugh. The jokes were in JP, and TL notes explained the puns. It was a riot. Wherever i watched it changed translations by the Frieza saga, and the others' jokes were localized
eletricsaberman@eletricsaberman

@bunburyoudoujp The difference is 1 side clearly loves Japan and anime, and the other side hates it. And of course, most of the time, the TL notes were really good. This 1 guy did this 1 note this 1 time and people act like that's all TL notes ever were

@bunburyoudoujp Related, when shoritori in particular gets localized, it really pisses me off. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ADD THE ROMAJI IN PARENTHESIS! EVEN AN IDIOT CAN FIGURE IT OUT.
