[BREAKING] Since May, Columbia admin has been secretly working to eliminate graduate teaching jobs while negotiating with SWC for a new contract. Out of ~200 instructor jobs in a regular year, we know of only ~10 that have been appointed.

Re: UChicago, there’s a lot of uncertainty among the faculty. But we know that 90% of the Division budget is personnel and believe that the provost prefers cuts over bloodless consolidation. It wouldn’t surprise me if it’s not just staff and NTT faculty that are fired in the end
