@14JUN1995 I don't think Osborne finds this convincing though. For him by the time of TBM and her turn to Kierkegaard, Rose is only really occupied with individual "ethical" action. 3/3

@14JUN1995 Her reading of the "leap of faith" to theorise not an imaginary leap outside of or against historical necessity (a kind of Zizekian abyssal act) but the risk of political action within compromised historical conditions./2

Interesting to read Gillian Rose (HCS) after reading Lukacs. Whereas Lukacs is quick to condemn the supposed bourgeois elements of Hegel’s thought, Rose is more defensive of Hegel, seeing him as more allied with Marx than even Marx thought. Many paragraphs similar to this one
