@Tosche_E already made the perfect monospaced sans font for coding. Been using it since 2020 and it's called Comic Code. tosche.net/fonts/comic-co…

@RosyShepherdess @_alialkhatib I'm frankly surprised it lasted this long. I knew it was coming as soon as they started scripts on websites and apps to block screen grabs. They're turning the internet into George Orwell's palimpsest.

That all sounds good and I am a big proponent of this but good luck getting permits to do that. Think that can be done way out of county limits? Fine. Good luck finding enough water that will perk. Also, how many septic systems are we looking at here? I want people do be able to do this but it’s not nearly as easy as it seems on socials.

A New Way to Live Together What if the future of family living isn't about moving farther apart... but building closer together? Imagine a piece of land where everyone has their own home, their own space, and their own privacy -yet parents, siblings, kids, and loved ones are only a short walk away. No long drives for Sunday dinners. No worrying about aging parents living alone. No strangers raising your children while family lives miles away. This kind of family compound keeps not only memories close, but also wealth, land, and opportunities within the family. Shared gardens, shared meals, shared support... and a lifestyle built on connection instead of distance.

@zetalyrae That would just be a lot harder to control and maintain 99% of people who think extremely laterally are scatterbrained idiots. 1% are creative geniuses Kanye is the poster child here. And even in his case, 99% of people, when exposed only to his speech, would think him an idiot

It's weird that LLMs don't bring up far-ranging loose associations in conversation. I feel I would if I had read and remembered the entire Internet.

@sivori @whatgmxm Your definition is a perfect match for The State. They claim and exercise a monopoly on the "legitimate" use of violence. War, enforcement of "laws" and "statutes" with the threat of violence. They initiate violence as policy while deeming anyone who does the same a criminal.

@sivori @whatgmxm Given all of that, why would anyone trust The State to wisely use surveillance tech only on "criminals" when they ARE the criminals, we pay them for it, and the "law" even protects that fact. There is absolutely no reason for them not to abuse it and weaponize it on innocents.

@sivori @whatgmxm As for unwillingness to be responsible, The State and its servants operate under layers of legal and institutional insulation that make personal accountability almost impossible: - Qualified Immunity - Sovereign Immunity - Bureaucratic diffusion - Institutional deflection

I'm guessing this guy is mid-20s. I used to be 23 and hate the oppressive surveillance apparatus, seeing it as some techno-daddy or god to overthrow in my total rebellion. I would pop off at cops when they pulled me over for traffic violations. My pen would bleed with manifesti. As Lucifer says in "Paradise Lost" when being cast out from Heaven, "Non serviam", I will not serve! But then I realized that I had more to fear from the daily oppression of criminals, the violent in thought and behavior and people who cannot manage themselves in a free society, people who subject others to their own disorder, harming the peace and security that a society depends on.

@aethernet_port @somewheresy Yeah, I'm against all forms of surveillance tech by the state. There are other ways to prevent crime and bring more safety than this dystopian surveillance tech.

@gabriel_export @somewheresy There are other ways? There are zero countries where surveillance technology used by the state does not get abused. That’s the trade off
