@amn81052 @CSI_Starbase Copied is a stretch given that there are reports they talked to the FIA about it a year ago and it’s been in development. It’s a very different solution from Ferrari

I just realized F1 is back tomorrow 🥲 I wonder if a 1 month break was enough for Honda to finally get their shit together. Will be interesting to see how many teams copied the Macarena flip flop wing as well. I want to see it actually used beyond FP1 for once.

@AlextheAdm1ral My hot take is the gen 7 and this are not conflicting issues. The issue for nascar was making a spec car. They could easily still do that but make the design very different for the next gen car. NASCAR c-suite has this affinity to defend the gen 7 bc of the construction method

@daletanhardt I’m a relatively new nascar fan to take it with a grain so salt, but it seems to me that every time nascar defends the gen 7, it’s about the construction method, since the teams were destroying themselves or whatever. Fan criticism is over the design. Those are not conflicting

If Steve O’Donnell wants to truly unite the NASCAR fanbase, he will concede that the future of NASCAR does not rely on the Gen 7 car. It relies on the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series car. Please. Concede the obvious. Make the future racing product better.

@joe_srigley I felt it made the strategy in the first stage very interesting (and punished mistakes, hard day to be a denny fan) but the 2nd and 3rd stages showed that we definitely need work on the car. Neither line prevailed and it was gridlocked.

I think I know the answer based on what I've seen on social media today, but do you think adjusting the stage lengths did ANYTHING to help the product at Talladega today? What are your thoughts? #NASCAR

@BoziTatarevic @jeff_gluck I think that last statement is a big impact in whether overtimes are good or not. In 2026 a restart extending the distance of a race that basically went green is bullshit, but if there were already yellows it makes more sense. Idk how to describe it better than that

@jeff_gluck The spring 2026 and spring 2024 Kansas races played out almost exactly the same with who was leading and how the races ended and when. The only difference was that the 2024 race had multiple cautions and restarts inside of stage 3.

The spring Kansas race in 2024 holds a record of 95.8% yes on the @jeff_gluck poll. Hamlin, Buescher, and Larson were the dominant cars with Hamlin leading until a late race yellow that led to overtime. Hamlin lost the lead on the restart and Larson won the race.

@BoziTatarevic I think there are different expectations for drafting tracks.

Every video on mars discovery is like, "we found this evidence that is really only explanable by life at this point, but we have no life detecting instruments on Mars. We have to be very certain before we say." LETS SEND THAT EQUIPMENT ITS BEEN 50 YEARS SINCE VIKING. PURPOSEFULLY NOT SENDING LIFE SCIENCE IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST FAILURES OF THE SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY'S HISTORY.

NASA should stop tiptoing around space settlement as a goal. Unlike pseudomilitary Apollo, Artemis has the explicit goal of sending the first woman to the Moon. Human settlement as a goal naturally calls for sending representatives of our full biology, no need to appeal to DEI.
