@BetteDa53428528 @BigModernism It's a bit of both, when women take control of a chapel/parish they start to think they're the authority and that dissuades men from wanting to get involved. Really it boils down to priests being weak and allowing all this to happen in the first place

@BigModernism I don't understand this, is it because men wont' step up or because women are in control? I always go the priest or Deacon. Some old lady at our church dropped the ciborium and all the host spilled

@GMockeridge @steve_hanke He very clearly is, if something is deemed unjust by an authority then you shouldn't do it. Bishops have the authority to bind the conscience of their flock, which is exactly what he did

@ilhasx @steve_hanke Sorry, it isn’t. He isn’t even saying a Catholic cannot in good conscience serve in this war or that he must refuse orders.

FLASH: On Good Friday, Archbishop Timothy Broglio, head of the Archdiocese for the US Military Services, declared the Iran war UNJUST. The Archbishop has rendered an important final judgement. Case closed.

@GMockeridge @steve_hanke Do you think bishops exist just to ordain priests? They are the lords of their diocese and they get to call the shots on many matters, this case is one of those

@steve_hanke He doesn’t have the authority to declare anything. It’s just his opinion. And it’s grossly irresponsible that he says this stuff publicly. His Excellency doesn’t even consider the impact this has on Catholics serving in the U.S. military.

@LMLM39764778 @Nero What use is "bringing people to catholicism" if it's a fake and gay version of it?

@Nero Milo. Leave Bishop Barron alone. He has brought more people to Catholicism than many. He’s super smart and humble. C’mon man.

@EsquireCatholic Wait, he is Catholic ? I always thought that he was some kind of Maine line that keeps the title of bishop for reasons. It’s a disgrace to the Church.

This is unbelievably scandalous. I didn’t think there was any recovery after Barron told Shapiro he could be saved because he follows the Mosaic law without accepting Jesus Christ; this just perfects the scandal beyond repair I’m afraid.

It seems @BishopBarron is doing his part to implement @BishopBambera’s memo contra @CarriePrejean1, specifically, “God’s covenant with the Jewish people has not been revoked, but continues”: x.com/JendersII/stat… Not surprising at all, in light of what he told @benshapiro in 2018: youtube.com/watch?v=nsp49X… Video source: youtube.com/live/3CzsmPQEb…

>be bishop baron >promotes "reasonable hope" hell is empty, rooted in Balthasar, while affirming its possibility >on Palm Sunday 2026, reflects even Judas might be saved via medieval carving and divine mercy >Israel bars Latin Patriarch from Holy Sepulchre Mass same day amid security offers no strong rebuke, quick to flag antisemitism elsewhere >holy week 2026: leaves diocese >attends White House event >claps as Paula White frames Trump’s passion, betrayal, and rising in Christ-like terms >as bishop, bound by 1983 canons 273 (obedience/reverence), 212§3 (manifest opinions for Church good), 756 & 747§1 (preach intact Gospel for souls’ salvation) >contrasts 1917 canons 126 (preach word for salvation), 127 (exemplary life, avoid unbecoming), 138 (bishops entrusted with faithful preaching) >Word on Fire stresses broad mercy and hope >yet softens Scripture/Fathers’ urgent warnings on damnation and narrow gate >speculative hope for Judas; potential confusion for faithful on judgment and repentance Peak Novus Ordoïte

@Axlex23832 @Lex_Ludendi Francis getting canonized tomorrow would be less scandalous than John XXIII and Paul VI supposedly being worthy of the same veneration as St Augustine, St Thomas, etc

@Axlex23832 @CatholicRob If they canonized the likes of John XXIII, Paul VI (lmao) and JP2, this would just be business as usual

@CatholicRob April fools or not (hard to tell many times these days!), we all know it’s only a matter of time before for the false church raises one of its most loyal sons to the table.
