@TWlegion I’m not his jury. He has zero presumption of evidence with the public. Everyone will make whatever judgment they want of him. No suppression motion can change that. Excusing his behavior is what enables him and all who repeatedly drive impaired.

@TWlegion So much here. A couple traffic offenses aren’t his problem. This never sees a courtroom…it sees a tidy plea deal with a relatively minor hand slap. The damage to his image, legacy and brand is far more damaging to one with an ego his size. Lawyers can help him with one…

🚨It’s been a couple of days now and there’s still a lot of unknowns surrounding Tiger’s accident. The charges against him are obviously very serious. We have yet to see the police report or body cam footage (if it exists). Even more notably, we still haven’t gotten a statement from Woods / his team like we got quickly in the past. Surely there’s probably a lot going on behind the scenes. We still don’t know when we see Tiger next (Masters) or if he disappears for months. Both scenarios wouldn’t entirely shock me. Came across a legal opinion on ABC’s affiliate in West Palm Beach, outlining some of the items at play. Thought it was interesting so I’m sharing it and will link the full article below in the comments. (Via @WPBF25News) Please note this is purely informational and this is also just one persons opinion. I’ve seen other opinions saying otherwise. Also, I’m not a lawyer and not pretending to be one and just because we’re TW fans, we do acknowledge the seriousness of the situation and what’s at play here as this could have been a much different outcome. ▫️The DUI Charges against him might not hold up in court according to Tarlika Nunez-Navarro, the dean and professor of Law at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens. The former Florida judge said there are a number of items at play in his case… ▫️“Florida DUI law requires proof of impairment — not just signs of impairment. Without a urine test, there is no chemical evidence of what substance was in his system or at what level. The prosecution will have to rely entirely on the officer's observations — lethargic appearance, field sobriety test performance — and Woods' lawyers will counter every single one of those observations with his documented medical history.” ▫️His existing injuries “can explain lethargic appearance and poor physical performance on roadside tests without any impairment at all.” ▫️“Florida law requires that a DUI suspect be held for eight hours OR until they register under 0.05 on a breathalyzer — whichever comes first. Woods blew 0.00. He should have been released within hours, not held the full eight hours. His lawyers may file a motion challenging the lawfulness of the detention itself. If the detention was unlawful, anything that happened during that time — statements, observations — could be suppressed.” ▫️ "Refusing a urine test in Florida triggers an automatic one-year license suspension and a separate criminal charge. But — it may have been the strategically correct decision. If Woods had taken the test and it showed prescription medication at therapeutic levels, prosecutors could still argue impairment. By refusing, his lawyers created reasonable doubt on the substance question entirely. The refusal charge carries less weight than a positive drug test in a DUI conviction.” ▫️ Woods was never actually convicted of DUI in 2017 (was reduced to reckless driving) “Prosecutors may not be able to use the 2017 case to trigger enhanced penalties because the conviction was for a different offense. His lawyers will argue this is legally his first DUI conviction.” Many unknowns right now. We wish the best for Tiger as a person and hope he gets whatever he needs to get better in every aspect. Also very thankful he’s alive and that nobody else was hurt as a result of the crash. ➡️ What are your thoughts?

I’m convinced Iowa fans are the dumbest group of people. And trust me, I’d love to say it’s Georgia, FSU or Miami. But these people are a special breed of stupid.

@zagnut Overthinking, but wonder if he drives partially for privacy…since he named his yacht that…and partly because it is about the only normal aspect of his life…and he is alone so nobody gets in the way of his addiction.

Tiger Woods has chronic pain & a broken body, can’t do the 1 thing he was raised to do anymore and never will be able to again, parents are gone but the isolation they implemented is not. Stunted social growth and hitting 50 alone. It’s got to be so weird being Tiger Woods.

@DuBoseDefense You act like TIger has a legal problem. Insignificant. Hundreds of millions thought he was a dipshit before today. A whole bunch of new folks are in that camp now. Not one person began liking him today. He’s a brand. No verdict or slick attorney can limit the damage.

Every half literate meat head on my timeline is sure Tiger was intox because of things in his history. What if the cops on the scene acted with the same affliction?

@DuBoseDefense @greyzabelFC That is false. Retired State Trooper. Many states only allow the taking of a chemical test by search warrant in cases when there is a serious injury or death in the collision. So the refusal stands but is allowed to be used against the driver for presumptive purposes.

A urine test is also a very ineffective tool for determining drug-based intoxication. Texas doesn’t even use urine tests because of this. Anyone would be stupid to take a urine test while under investigation for DWI.

"[Tiger Woods] did a breathalyzer test, blew triple zeroes. But when it came time for us to ask for a urinalysis test, he refused. And so, he's been charged with DUI, with property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test... No one was injured."

@nicksortor It’s another stupid move. You admit it’s unconstitutional and could cause impeachment and yet you cheer for it? Doesn’t sound very patriotic to me…

@ChrisCuomo I started watching NewsNation for some “closer to the center” balance. You won’t agree and that doesn’t matter, but you’ve tilted back to CNN Chris so badly the last two months. Really disappointing as a viewer. I’ll keep trying…for a bit.

@istatenation This boy don’t come off the farm much. Houston plays in a 7,000 seat arena…rodeos have more consistent fans than Cougar basketball. It’s a big city with lots of options. Texans don’t obsess over college hoops.

@Clones007 The Iowa obsession couldn’t be more fulfilling. Rent free is the best. This thing and Larry have posted 400 times since Iowa made Sweet 16, all losing their mind over the Hawkeye program while their own school is having bake sales and car washes to keep the lights on. Perfect!

Iowa has no less than 5-6 million a year for basketball. Stirtz took a 1.5 million dollar pay cut to follow his life coach to Iowa… Iowa will never land a player to his caliber ever again. I’m not going to sit here and pretend Ben isn’t a good coach because he is, I didn’t expect Iowa to make it to the sweet 16 but congrats for doing so. Next year Iowa loses its 2 best players, and it’ll be the first year Ben doesn’t have a guy who can play 40 min a game and drop 20 like Stirtz can. Ben knows that. I’d fully expect in the next year a blue blood like KU or UNC to offer him triple what he’s getting at Iowa, with his current track record who wouldn’t want him.
Iowa_Loud@loud_iowa

@Clones007 And it’s the same guy you’re actively praying for a blue blood to swoop in and steal, which isn’t going to happen.
