My @emirates flight today:
Cabin manager: looks at seat assignments, looks at me, looks at man next to me. Then says to man next to me “Welcome Dr Stamp”
Because couldn’t possibly be me.
And I probably wouldn’t have said anything if it wasn’t a generally rubbish flight/service

Witches, we said last night we’d bring you a response this morning from an advertiser from our #BinBen campaign which was the most disgraceful we’d ever seen.
Apologies for the delay: we’re so slammed back here we took longer than expected to tweet this (but it is still morning so we didn’t break our word).
We fear you’ll see the response below as anti-climactic or innocuous compared to what you’ve imagined the issue is. However, we stand by our statement that what @RedEnergyAU are saying here is, indeed, the most disgraceful advertiser response we’ve ever been sent.
Why?
Because what Red Energy are clearly saying is that the reason they won’t stop advertising on Ben Fordham’s @2GB873 show is because they’ve “clarified with 2GB” that what Fordham did was fine and dandy.
SAY WHAT?
Yep, this response is saying to us all that Red Energy believe that a man taking a woman’s name he was secretly given by some nasty stooge in the LNP and publishing it on air despite knowing the woman desperately wanted her anonymity protected after reporting a series of disgusting sexual messages from a former colleague was okay with them … and their reason for thinking this is that they spoke to the people who COMMITTED the disgraceful behaviour for their view.
WHAT IN THE EVERLOVING FUCK?
As we said, we know some will think we’re over-egging the outrage here. But so many woman who’ve been disbelieved after being sexually harassed or groped or assaulted because other people are mates with the man who hurt them and he denied what he did will recognise the pattern here. The pattern of powerful people (mostly corporate men) standing up for other powerful men (such as Ben Fordham) just because it’s easier to believe what Ben did was inconsequential and that protecting HIM (and their own profit) is more important to them than standing up for a victim.
IT’S FUCKING INSUPPORTABLE.
And so, at this point we need you to get involved.
We very rarely ask you to contact senior people at corporations directly, witches. In fact, we only did it once through the entire Alan Jones campaign.
But the message below is so fucking insensitive and so fucking shameful we want you to directly ask the CEO of Red Energy if he’s happy to continue funding Fordham’s hate just because someone in his company “spoke to 2GB who said they’re the good guys so fuck you witches”.
His name is Iain Graham. A shitload of people who work for him are women, and some of those women are sexual assault victims who’d be terribly hurt by the message below. Not only that, but Red Energy are a company who say they care about their employees and good name: they splash feel-good messages all over their website (some of which we’ve added to a 2nd tweet in this thread).
We want you to get in touch with Iain. His work email address is iain.graham@redenergy.com.au. Tell him how you feel about the message below. Be civil and polite. But be firm. If you’re a customer of Red Energy or have considered being one any time soon, your message to Iain will be even more important today.
We’re pretty sure Iain doesn’t know about the message below (yet), and hopefully he’ll be horrified by it. If so, he should let us know what he thinks about all this. For his company, staff, suppliers, and for all the women of Australia (and the men who care about them) who’re fucking disgusted by how blithely Red Energy are brushing off a group rightfully angry about a man who deliberately exposed a victim to harm for link clicks and profit.
Please continue to contact Red Energy via their normal channels (go to our website mfw.org.au; then the Campaign Data page, click on #BinBen, then scroll or search for Red Energy) and all the other companies on there, too.
But as an additional task, please tell Iain exactly what you think.
Today.
Because if witches won’t stand up to hate media, who fucking will?

@piper4missouri It is beyond belief that the USA still doesn’t have universal paid maternity leave. Australia has 18 weeks on full pay, which is not as generous as some other countries.
