@arcadeuk @saulhenderson Aye. We had a 10% tax rate for the lowest paid. The Tories did away with it, giving the lowest paid an instant 10% tax hike. Can you imagine the absolute twining if they put 10% on the top bracket?

Minimum wage is now too high. There are many jobs that will just be lost because they simply can't be financially justified. The sensible way to help lower income people, would have been to raise the tax threshold. That would have meant more money in the workers pocket, without a cost to the business/the economy.

26.4k a year for minimum wage 40 hours a week. Teaching salary is 30k a year to start with. So you’re telling me I have to go to university for 4 years to then start off on a salary 3.6k more than someone who works at Tesco? That makes sense…

Well, fancy that. The Covid first minister who rattled off dodgy stats to make Scotland look better than England, swerved giving straight answers, and trotted out falsehoods wasn’t actually the hero she convinced many people she was. Column today ⬇️ thescottishsun.co.uk/news/15604777/…

A woman who was reported missing by her family in Texas has been found alive and living in Scotland as a "handmaiden" for a self-proclaimed "lost" African tribe. Kaura Taylor is proudly serving King Atehene, 36, & Queen Nandi, 42, at a camp in the wilderness of Jedburgh, Roxburghshire. In a video message from the camp, Taylor said, "To the UK authorities, obviously I am not missing. Leave me alone. I’m an adult, not a helpless child." The trio claims they are a lost tribe of Hebrews trying to reclaim land stolen from their ancestors 400 years ago. The self-proclaimed king, whose real name is Kofi Offeh, is a former opera singer from Ghana, & the queen, Jean Gasho, is from Zimbabwe. They have founded the "kingdom of Kubala" & claim they do not recognize local laws. The group had previously been served an eviction notice from their original site. Gasho, a mother of seven, and Offeh were due to face a trial for child cruelty but all charges were dropped earlier this year. 🙏Please share to spread awareness DISCLAIMER: The information shared is based on initial reports, may not be fully verified, & is presented as alleged.
