I have seen a lot of AI generated "feel good" posts. This isn't one of them! We are real humans just trying to find a home for my dad's train room which is simply world class. He has been carefully constructing buildings (each individually selected and shipped from Germany) since I was a kid and actually put it all together only about 5 or 6 years ago. There's a wedding and a funeral, a beer garden, old school McDonald's, and he even put an airstream at a campsite for his dear old daughter. I only recently realized on a trip to Germany with him that the gardens along the tracks are faithful reproductions of what you see on the train from Munich to Germany. My mom passed away and he is 80, so he's moving to a smaller place. The craftsmanship is next level and only a few children– just my kids, my nieces and nephews have ever seen it. My friend, who painted a number of murals for our local children's museum, stepped in to finish painting the landscape when my mom got sick. We aren't trying to sell it– just trying to find it a good home. I simply can't imagine throwing it away. The local children's museum loves it but doesn't have space. @metsswift This is insane. Every new parent is young and unprepared. An adopted child, no matter how competent their adoptive parent is, has a permanent hole in their heart. Happy for this new life that their birth mom chose to parent.

I’m sorry if this is an unpopular opinion. Families adopting a child from a young mom, shouldn’t be allowed to wait at the hospital during the birth. They should be notified after, once Mama has had a little time with the child and is able to fully commit to the decision.

I got a small block of Wüsthof knives for my husband for Christmas— five I think— they were expensive but I did my research. Flash forward my dad gives us a giant block of Henkel knives for Christmas.. used them for a couple of years but they are not great! Packed up the henkels for the kids and expanded our Wüsthof collection, bought a bigger block, now back on the counter. Great knives!

@jackfriks 1 decent chef's knife... A Wüsthof Classic 20cm for £80. Had it for over a decade and probably use it for nearly every evening meal. So comfortable and fast using it now.
