With the DSA having been formally endorsed, we recognise that the #DSA takes some steps towards fighting against illegal content online while improving consumer protection. However, it is still a missed opportunity to ensure that illegal content is swiftly and permanently removed

Sadly fakes are not confined to online marketplaces but the new EU rules on verifying sellers ARE. So they will only fix a small part of the problem. We need verification rules extended to ALL online intermediaries. After today's vote we must build on DSA with NIS2 #KYBC

Yes @ThierryBreton we DO need to build on the #DSA. Counterfeiting is not limited to online marketplaces so why limit KYBC? We need #KYBC for ALL intermediaries so consumers have complete trust and protection from illegal activity wherever they go online.

Social media is ↗️ facilitating online #counterfeiting. Together with actors such as advertising platforms, search engines & livestreaming apps, it allows fraudulent sellers to reach online users & facilitates sales.
