You are right but at least many of them do align their laws with global and regional guidelines. If we follow suit, it enables us achieve regional integration goals.

@lanobecker @KagutaMuseveni Do you know why each country has its own Medicine Regulations, they have unique issues to deal with!

Ring fencing a professional title while bottlenecking other pharma professions, suppressing innovation, promoting brain drainage of our scientists; is not only primitive but selfish & a terrible danger to Uganda and its social-economic growth H.E @KagutaMuseveni kindly intervene

Yes, the patient can reassure you that actually all health professional bodies can be merged into one, something that is already in pipeline. Watch the space! Now administer my antidepressant dose and I take rest, musawo!

Always issues of unclear scopes, outdated laws, overlapping roles, regulatory ambiguities, task shifting, competition 4 leadership & recognition of specialities r disturbing us. We can solve through a core competence framework for all cadres @NUPAPWU @PharmacistsUg @ppau_official

Haha, but you embarrass so much. To those a pharmaceutical scientist covers even oncology, microbiology, genetic engineering amd more. Research beyond what you are told!

So what of direct supervision on every department?
Abiaz Rwamwiri@AbiazRwamwiri

I don’t earn anything from lies; that list you shared has an overall supervisor who is a Pharmacist! HE @KagutaMuseveni has severally met experts from both @WHO and African Medicines Agency, he knows these facts! Time for politics ended, Uganda must do the right thing! No one is saying other qualified persons won’t be involved but must be supervised by the right person and for medicines, that person is a pharmacist!

Pharmaceutical sciences will get stronger after this. And if PSU fails to cooperate with it's stakeholders, will be replaced. Watch the space

That does not call to compromise the Bill against global standards and EAC guidelines. Regulation gaps can always be addressed with properly streamlined laws!
Sam@SamuelNgolobe

@lanobecker @KagutaMuseveni What is wrong with that?? What is selifish about professionals being in charge rather than unregulated disorganized scientists with no professional body. Who do your employers report to in case of misconduct?

Yes, a Biotechnologist with the required minimum experience, is best fit to supervise manufacture of vaccines
Dr. collins Atukwatse@MoxieCollins2

@lanobecker Interesting. So according to u ( putting pharmacists and Pharmaceutical scientists aside) all other are scientists mentioned are also better positioned to supervise drug manufacturing?

According to what Pharmacists claimed, if we introduce the 10 year course, BSc. Human medicine, the cadres will understand Human medicine and patient-care back to back, hence the best cadres to solely supervise every health care provider in the sector.
