@TBM_JY This just means it will be litigated, both sides have asked for dismissals & have lost that doesn't mean either side has won anything yet. Let's wait and see what actually becomes of this case. I think both sides have some shady dealings to be worried about.

Mountain West Counterclaims survive dismissal in part The Federal judge ruled in favor of the Mountain West in 2 of 3 of their counterclaims against the PAC-12. Tortious Interference and Unjust Enrichment remain and will be litigated. More info to come.

@BattleCattleFan @CourtneyLTanner Maybe get the numbers correct & mention that USU students get free access to all sporting events and has a huge student rec program. Part of the fees increase request included asking for more funding to campus rec as well. But you failed to mention that as well.

@Mater_russ @BrawnAggie @DevinD33 Every coach that has left since Odom it was not due to USU not attempting to pony up the money to keep the coach in town. They all left to get closer home/dream job. USU has deeper pockets than you think and a major downer has offered to pony up money each time.

So the new Utah State coach is making $1.2 million. Madsen is making $2.8 million right now. But yeah USU was in the running 😂😂😂😂😂

@Mater_russ @BrawnAggie @DevinD33 I know for a fact they did. USU offered in the 3.2-3.3 million range & I am assuming Cincy ponied up & offered more & that is when he took it. I have spoken to multiple people that have said USU offered him close to 3 mil before the season ended & upped the offer once Cincy did.

@bananaman899 Somehow getting an entire fan base to spend 24 hours thinking you are their next HC, when you haven't talked to the AD of said school is a genius move. Then he tops it off with the post from the airport to insure a buy-in from Cal. Proves that Stanford degree was put to good use.

@BoozeCougs Let's be honest, attendance at Utah gymnastics meets, has far exceeded basketball for years.

Both these games were reported around 8k attendance. I’ll let you decide which is a lie.

Connor@cronair

@JeffBiesinger Attendance is typically in the 5k-8k range. It just looks bleak because the Huntsman is cavernous. While some blame lies with the fans, the lion’s share is on the AD

@IraGorawara I came away really impressed after attending this morning. It is a sign of a great coach when he can say that he will adjust to his players and their talents and not force them to adjust to his style.

USU head coach Ben Jacobson says his system "isn't going to be brand new for them," looking toward his Aggies players sitting in the front of the press conference. "If there's things you like doing, that are working for you, we're gonna keep doing them, I'm gonna adjust."

@goldenbearwire Cam Walker also said he was shocked to hear over the weekend that he was about to hire someone he had never talked to in this process. If there had been mutual interest, USU has/had the money to pony up for the coach that he felt fit the direction the program is taking.

@goldenbearwire It's called a hell of a deal, to get a coach that knows how to win with minimal talent that USU also got without paying a buyout. With the Calhoun buyout and NIL increase, USU has money to spend on players.

@brittonlarsen1 0 resources at UNI in the NIL era. The fact that he went to the tourney this year shows he can still coach. If he was 5-10 years younger everyone would say we got the next Calhoun/Sprinkle in town. At his age, I would assume that unless Iowa/Iowa St come calling he is not leaving

@frrper @CurrentUSUAggie Still waiting on the thank you USU/HURD press release as well. Jacobsen held a farewell press conference with local media. When was the last time a leaving coach did that?

@CurrentUSUAggie Wasn't Jerrod with the team when news broke? Not sure that's a fair point to make

Jerrod Calhoun didn’t give us an announcement for his departure. (News broke to the team via Twitter) Ben Jacobson talked to the team and held a PRESS CONFERENCE for his departure. Actions speak louder than words

@frrper @CurrentUSUAggie It is a fair point. Calhoun waited until the team bus got to Logan to talk to the team. Calhoun's deal was done before the MWC tournament started. So it isn't like he told Cincy I am coming 30 seconds before the team left. He could have told the team before they left San Diego

@NoSocksJonny @bananaman899 A guy who is barely over .500 for his career and under the last 10 years, oh and no tourney appearances since the 20/21 season. Josh had a great start to his career but has significantly fallen since then. UNLV was so desperate they hired a guy who nobody wanted for 2 years.

@TheShowSDSU Your account has really gone downhill since you had your 3-5 string TE's injured, when you lost to us in the MWC title game a few years back.

@TheShowSDSU USU got a coach that made it to the tourney with zero NIL resources. I think SDSU has a great coach & a great program, but you guys missed the tourney with the most resources in the MWC. Maybe go back into hibernation & work on getting some student engagement.

@jasonkredline You are making your own argument. The dude took a team with $0 in NIL funding to the tourney. No matter how it happened, his team made it. Now that he will have NIL money, I am excited to see what happens.

Feels like a pretty underwhelming hire tbh. Certainly could work, but I don’t think Jacobson was one of the top 7 targets Utah State had on its big board at the start of this thing. Screams budget hire. The “coaching factory in Logan” hypothesis will be tested here.
Jeff Goodman@GoodmanHoops

Utah State is expected to hire UNI head coach Ben Jacobson, source told @thefieldof68. Jacobson, 55, has been the head coach at UNI since 2006 and has won 397 games in his time with the Panthers. Jacobson went to back-to-back NCAA tournaments in 2015 and 2016, and took UNI to the tourney this season.

@lobogabe Jacobsen is 10 years older, but a great comparison. I am shocked at how many USU fans are pissed off, yet they were begging for USU to hire Olen, when it is obvious he wasn't leaving. The fact that he made the tourney this last year proves he hasn't forgotten how to coach.

@BullSheetAlumni Duryea had only a couple years as a HC at a CC and obviously has zero clue how to coach a team. We just signed a coach who took a team to the tourney with $0 in NIL support. He has proven to be loyal, so maybe we just got our next Stew
