Hakim Hafiz Abdul Majeed of India extracted an "Arq" (essence) of various flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables in 1906.
He called it Rooh Afza (soul-nourisher).
Today, it is the highest selling and one of the most popular essence in the Islamicate world.
