my @Columbia class is coming to a close next week. as a final project i have the students define an issue or challenge in the digital art ecosystem that they critically research, analyze and explore creative solutions for based on their personal goals and interests. then they give a 15 minute presentation and write a research paper on it. some topics from yesterdays class include: Does Artificial Intelligence Possess True Artistic Ability? What We Think We Own vs What We Actually Own: The Reality of Digital Ownership Limitations in Displaying and Marketing Digital Art NFTs: from $25B to ‘Dead’ - The Rise, Fall, and Reinvention of NFTs AI and the Future of Fashion Imagery let’s see what next week brings :)

@G4SP4RD Should be a no-brainer for Samsung or LG to ship, they already have the most powerful TV SoCs. But we might be biased. ;-)

@ozziecode Yeah it makes sense. The thing is that generative artist can be very creative to build CPU intensive artwork. Hopefully tv manufacturer will take this into consideration

I think that if we want to continue growing the digital/generative art market, we collectively need to work on how to display it. Currently, there is simply no solution for displaying generative art at the scale of a building. Either you need to put a mini-PC behind each screen which is a nightmare to maintain and create schedule/playlist or existing hardware digital-signage solutions like BrightSign have very limited computing power and can’t run code-based art properly
